The Love Below/The best Prince album he never made

I'm sure you all know this but.....Andre 3000 made a Prince Album. It's almost eerie to listen to it. Andre said he used "Parade" and UTCM as inspiration. But damn it went beyond inspiration, damn near plagerism. And he's channeling Sly Stone on "Roses".But u have to admit it the album is hot.

lol. you're right.
When I first got the cd I looked at the cd booklet and read the song titles

"she lives in my lap"

"she's always in my hair" came to mind
"What if I called you silly names, just like the ones that you call me"

the love below is most definitley prince influenced but its far from plagerized. just listen 2 "take off your cool" "she's alive" "dracula's wedding" lovehater and "a day in the life of benjamin andre"

I'm sorry, but it's the next best thing to plagerizing. Ok maybe not lyrically, but musically he's border line with what rap producers refer to as an "interpolation".A word invented so they could get around paying sampling royalties. The bottom-line it's a great cd-I'm not hating on Andre 3000.But...I will have to refer to the Love Below as the best Prince album he never made. It's just too much like "P" for me to give it up to him on the level of musical genius.DJ Quik is more of a musical genius in my book than an Andre 3000.3000's got skillz though.

An exaggeration. Don't you think?

I don't believe Sly would sing something as utterly obnoxious as that one.

Sorry y'all as it stands "THE LOVE BELOW" (although its at the 10 million point as of yesterday) will always be "THE BEST PRINCE ALBUM HE NEVER MADE". p.s. this thread is far from stupid.Simply put-imitiation is the sincerest form of flattery.....but god damn Andre you could have held back a little on the supposed "inspiration".

Yeah, and they said the same thing about Beck's "Midnight Vultures", too..."The best Prince album Prince never made.."....all I can think is that if everyone is STILL saying "the best Prince album he never made", then it means that nobody has come along yet to replace Prince in the pop/R&B musical landscape.

Well, like I said before, "The Love Below" is just as a crap album like those Prince wannabe clone albums from back in the 1980's (horrible singers, cheap production, lame and to some point embarrassingly cringeworthy lyrics) with everyone back then trying to copy and profit off of that minneapolis sound... Andre3000 improved on those cats...
