RADICALMAN

your opinion ONA versus TRC

I RECEIVED MY ONE NITE ALONE ALBUM OVER A WEEK AGO, I BEEN LISTENING TO IT EVERYDAY NOW, AND IT TOOK JUST ONE DAY TO DECIDE THAT THIS IS A MUCH BETTER ALBUM THEN TRC. NOT TO SAY THAT TRC WAS BAD, BECAUSE I REALLY DO LIKE THAT ALBUM AS WELL BUT IT TOOK MUCH LONGER TO GET USE TO IT WERE ONA WAS ALMOST SPONTANEOUS.
SONGS, LIKE ONE NITE ALONE, YOUR GONNA SEE ME, A CASE OF U R JUST BRILLIANT. ESPECIALLY "A CASE OF U" I THINK THAT SHOULD BE REALEASED AS A SINGLE CAUSE EVERY TIME I HERE IT I GROW SO MUCH CLOSER TO THAT SONG.

...TO ALL HIS GOOD BROTHER'S THE WISE MAN SPOKE HGHLY OF HIS MUSE..

"TRC" is a much better album( a classic 2 me),but "ONA" is not the real new Prince's album so u can't compare the 2. I think that "Xenophobia" will b a more interresting album than "ONA"...

You really need to buy Joni Mitchell's orignial verson of "A Case of You" because Prince's version is very, very poor in comparison. Prince cut out the two best verses of the song for the love of god.

I think TRC is an album with much more production and time spend on it. You can't really compare these.
Though I like ONA, I love TRC more.

ok, u cant really compair these 2.. but eye'm not sayin any album is any less than the other...
ONA is a vocal/piano cd.. and a damn fine one at that.. its not everyday eye get a prince cd, that eye LOVE every song equally.. its the flow baby:)
TRC, is just a classic jazz cd from prince, it cant really be compaired, since there was more time spend on the other.. (TRC)

Hi,

TRC is so much better!!!
Not that ONA isn't a good album (it is!!), but it's just an easy listening Prince album (how many girlfriends like this album??? I think most of them, even though they don't like other Prince albums (except The Thruth and some single tracks)).

TRC is much more challenging and divers...

But, these 2 albums are maybe the best he's made since 'the Gold Experience'.

Peace,
TheKid

I think a better comparison would be between ONA and Intimate Moments Revisited

on that and the other I prefer ONA

I agree, ONA is way better than Intimate moments imho.

Hmmm...I like them both a great deal. One Nite Alone is definitely more consistent. The Rainbow Children is definitely more meaningful.

To be truthful and honest, I don't care for ONA.

Wait, before the protest, I am treating ONA like I did the Truth album. When I first heard the Truth, I thought it was a throw away. Now I listen to it regularly and dig the meaning of the tracks.

TRC on the otherhand is just, just wild. Digital Garden, Sensual Everafter, Everywhere, the instrumental at the end of TRC but before Muse to the Pharoh...wow...

I'll get back to you in a year or two.

I'd say that ONA is Prince's most consistent work ever. Every song is a gem. I love it, its one of my all-time favourites.
