Dinner with Delores should be WORSHIPPED!

In my opinion this song (along with "Had U")was a true stand out off C&D (an underated classic).

He seems to in some way being singing in a Bob Dylanish voice with very blue grass instrumentation. The music is awesome and allurig to say the least. Nobody seems to mention this song or Album very much. I feel as though it was better than much of his earlier "90's work. Very much a rock lp.

True. Nice record but not really a standout in terms of what Prince can really do.

dinner with delores is a fantastic track. a true prove of princes diversity and composing skills. it is a very nice and sweet melody, going up and around and up and around.

in fact the hole chaos and disorder cd is an underrated classic.

It's a good song but that line "Like a brontosaurus, she was packing it in' always makes me cringe, I think it's just too cheesy.

Worshiped? That's a little strong. I certainly wouldn't place it on a list of songs I dislike. It's very pleasant. But I don't know about "worship."

I will say this...I know that a few of you are pretty vocal about hating the "Chaos and Disorder" album. I don't at all! I think it's one of the best of his "vault" releases...

Dinner with Delores is one of the best pop songs Prince ever made - its a masterpeice in the tradition of Raspberry Beret and The Most BEautiful Girl in the World. It was simply overlooked with the rest of Chaos ans Disorder for the same reason that so many Prince masterpeices are overlooked: the breadth adn scope of his catalog is more than the average pop lisatener can comprehend. In a world ravished by hip hop and other worthless musical mutations, real music gets pushed aside or legendary artists get pigeon holed. The overall musical intellect of the audience is reduced greatly and thus Prince is only comprehended as a funk artist - his excellent forays into jazz, pop, and folk get dismissed as failed experiements by uneducated spectators who want erverything to sound like the top 40 or what used to be the Top 40.

THis is why I thank God for Prince and his courage to do what he wants all the time with absolutely no regard to the status quo.

YES!

I've always been a huge fan of "Dinner With Delores"

I liked "Chaos and Disorder" a lot.

I also think "I Rock, Therefore I am" is one of Prince's best, most nasty, most funky, most bad-ass, most underrated songs. The song fucking SMOKES!

Dinner with Delores is great. Too bad the rest of the album pretty much sucks.
