Tony M blip in TV Special

MTV, at least, showed a segment near the beginning with one and two liners from various music celebrities with their thoughts on why Prince is a genius, etc, including Alicia Keys, Herbie Hancock, and... Tony Mosely!!! WTF! So, did anyone recognize this as being an old clip, or do you think they found whatever shoe store he's working in and filmed the clip for the show?

A friend at work had told me he died!! so i was relieved to see that clip, even though I'd never want him back in the band

You know...

I was listening to "Diamonds and Pearls" at my desk today and I realized what many of you have been saying all along...

songs featuring Tony M. (particularly "Jughead") really WERE unfortunate, weren't they?

HAHAHA!

I doubt it - I can't imagine he would have died and it wouldn't have been known by most of the people here.

I think you guys are referring to Tony LeMans (Paisley Park recording artist), who passed in the very early 90's (don't remember exactly) or late 80s due to a motorcycle accident. Tony Mosley, I'm sure, is very much still alive.

LOL @ Anxiety!! Good one!

I will confess that I like his parts in 2 the 9s and Willing and Able...though I'm not sure if I like them because of him or despite him...some of the other stuff on D&P and O+>, though...oooWEEE. barf

I remember Tony saying that he was nearly in the band around the time of Purple Rain.

My opnion is that he sounded bad live but not that bad on the records.

Goofiest memory of him is in the Morning Papers video, wearing glasses and looking very non-hiphop strumming a guitar.
Every now and then
There comes a time you must defend
Your right to die and live again --
And again, and again...

Most of the clips were from other shows...I mean the Ozzy-Robert Plant-Little Richard clips were from interviews that happened in the 80's. Heck, U could clearly understand Ozzy. That right there should have given it away as dated.
