I don't know what to make of this article.

On the one hand, there's a lot of information that if true I've never heard anywhere else.

On the other hand, some bits seem a bit contrived to fit the tone of the article. It is fortunate for the article that Mani's favourite Prince songs were 'If I was your girlfriend' and 'I wanna be your lover' - wouldn't quite have worked if they were 'Batdance' and 'Glam Slam'!

Also they seem to push the 'stalker' angle - and then unnecessarily give the address of Prince's new house - as if to say, and for all you stalkers out there, here's where to go...

I also hate how articles present inferred information as fact when it's just in fact supposition. They talk about Prince turning to Jehovah's Witnessing because of his mother - unless Prince himself comes out with a quote saying that, it's unsubstantiated.

And part of that article uses quotes from Prince from an interview elsewhere - I hate how they make it like THEY interviewed him or something.

Suggesting that Prince is perhaps only being a Jehovah's Witness because it is somehow the 'in' thing for his career is ridiculous - quite the opposite - in fact the media tend to imply Jehovah's Witnessing is some sort of freakish cult when it is in fact a long established religion - if they ridiculed other religions like that, there'd be a massive outcry.

I'm sorry, but Jehovah's Witnesses is a cult. They say they aren't because they want to be respected as a bonafide religion. What other religion stops one from loving other family members that were once part of their religion; answer...Jehovah's Witnesses.

It's sad that Prince has been led to believe in their doctrine, just to see his parents and child again. I'm sure that was one of the ploys that Larry Graham used to get Prince interested in the religion; called, the resurrection. It's a way that they pull on the hearts of those that have lost loved-ones and hope to see them again. It's a great trick and believe me, it works.

I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I know I definitely used that tactic when I found out that the listener had lost or recently lost a loved one. It pulls at their heart that they could see them again, in human form, in a paradisaic earth. Who wouldn't fall for that?!

So, I believe the writer of the article that said Prince probably joined for those reasons, especially if it was his mother's dying wish. My mother died in 1983 and I wanted to see her again also. So, I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was let go after I fell once. Now, I don't hold that hope of a paradise earth, because their "loving" God doesn't seem too loving, and Prince will find that out shortly I'm sure. It's not the God that isn't loving, it's actually that cult-like organization of theirs.

Now, that's a cult for you.

co-sign.

Most religions have some sort of afterlife/resurrection deal to them - they wouldn't be half as popular otherwise wink

This article starts out by saying Prince goes door-to-door with his body guards - to talk about JW's... I find that one hard to believe.

I thought his family belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church?

This story still doesn't explain how Mani came to be at Paisley Park. All it says is "she graduated from university in 1998 and soon landed her dream job working with the singer."

What is it that Mani studied that made it so easy for her to graduate and then with no experience or work history she gets her dream job? And in the same year that she graduated and lands her dream job she gets a credit on the New Power Soul CD?

Being an atheist all organised religions seem kind of cultish to me!

I can't help thinking if they ever find evidence of life having existed on Mars, that really puts the final nail in god's coffin. "In the beginning, god created the Mars. But that ended up a completely disaster, so he made Mars II: The Earth and populated it with dinosaurs for no adequate reason"

Love a quote from a The The song:

"If jesus christ came back today
He'd be gunned down by the CIA"

Prince is lost to us.

He is scared, because of all those deaths around him, so he gets involved in a very nasty little cult, and goes and marries a fam. Sure, he is acting different, but the Prince of old is who I truly miss.

Why do people hide under religion when they can't explain something? We have a very weak society. Death is part of life. Prince, you will die when you die, and there aint a damn thing you can do to stop the thundering hoofbeats. We are all appointed a day.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Take it with a grain of salt.

Most of that story was gossip that's been going around since the day they got married, it didn't need to be researched really.

Great article and I'm really happy that he's found happiness, and overjoyed for him and his newfound relationship with Christ.

YOU GO PRINCE and don't let anything separate you from his presence and blessings ever again. I'm not a JW, but I've recently undergone the same thing. I feel like I really, really, know where he's coming from.

It's not the God that isn't loving, it's actually that cult-like organization of theirs.

Now, that's a cult for you.

I'm sorry you feel that way but the Bible actually talks about the future resurrection of dead loved ones, the Bible talks about God's attributes , Love, Justice, Wisdom and Power and how we cannot be seperated by God's love. The Bible talks about what God hates, about his promises and how he does not lie and about guidelines and principles to follow that benefit mankind. Even though you no longer agree with our beliefs they are Bible based. Does all this mean you do not even believe in the Bible?

I know you do not like the organization and talk against us, but have you actually took the time to "study" the Bible, even if on your own? It just sounds like you want to pass it up as a cult (which it is not for various reasons) instead of taking the time to really get into what the Bible says on matters. When you were "let go" as you put it, after you fell once (which I do not believe only because the elders try to help an individual and disfellowshipping is a last resort NOT the first thing they do) was it because you just were not repentant at all and did not want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses anymore? I know that they at least tried to help you so please don't say they didn't. Oh and by the way our religion does NOT stop family members from loving other family members who are no longer Witnesses, that is impossible. If a family has issues like that, it's a personal one not a "religious" one.

When people want to pass blame onto Jehovah's Witnesses for their own personal family problems, that is sad. My Brother for instance? Well he stopped being a Witnesses YEARS ago and we invite him to our family gatherings, we WANT to see him we WANT to be with him, we try to keep in contact with him, but does he come around? No, that is HIS decision not ours and not because of our faith. We will always love him and always welcome him back, whenever he decides to come back in our lives.

I am glad that Manuela was able to also be an influence to Prince and encourage him to get out there in the mainstream with his music again. I missed that about him. So what she was (I'm sure still is) a die hard fan, she GOT her man didn't she! You GO GIRL! biggrin I am also glad Prince is happier now that he has found Jehovah. I too did not know his mom was a Witness because I heard one story a while ago while Prince was studying that while still living, she visited a Kingdom Hall in Florida to "see what her son was getting into". If it is true that she was a Witness then I guess people who don't like us can stop passing all of the blame to Larry. Of course Prince has his own mind and decided to study, perhaps mamma Nelson influenced him too, but no one made him do it. I think even being a Witness myself, if Prince came to my door (not knowing that I was one of his Sisters in the faith) it would take a few minutes for me to contain myself as well! biggrin biggrin

If the writer had any interest in giving the reader the truth about the situation between Prince and Mani wouldn't it make sense to go to the source? Rather than actually speaking to Prince and Mani they quote other interviews and go to the elder at his Kingdom Hall. And just give out the address to his new house, that'll sell papers for sure. Whatever.

How many people on this site accept what this person wrote as truth....And I'm the one born yesterday?? If this was in the National Enquirer or the Star people would still think its the truth. My point is the press can print an entirely made up story about how Prince is actually from Mars and people would believe it. I'm not suggesting that he WOULD have been interviewed for this article, I'm suggesting that we shouldn't believe everything we read.

Among those with a view about the "new" Prince is Minneapolis gossip columnist CJ, who has followed his career for years, much to the annoyance of the artist himself who wrote a song about her called Billy Jack Bitch.

"A lot of credit is being given to Manuela," she says.

"Both his parents died recently, too. And that's the last barrier to realising that you, too, will die. Maybe that's the reason for the change in personality.

"He was always capable of monogamy but the man got bored quickly. The traumatic death of his baby changed all that. It affected him in a big way.

"People are curious as to why he's changed. The joke here in Minneapolis is that it looks like they finally got the medication right."

Oh yeah. When I want to get the reliable facts on Prince, I always turn to CJ. rolleyes

First Off here's my thing. I Believe it is Real Cool when 2 R in love. I Am The Real Deal as EVERYONe KNOWS quite Well I was There Before MANUELLA. However I am NOT PASSIVE or the Quiet Type. Prince Cannot Take it cause I would be TOO LOUD for Him. Plus I think He's Afraid that he would Have to be ON STAGe and well Maybe Sexually I would be Too Much. Manuella is NOT as Sexually Charged as I am. So basically Homeboy would get Old Fast.... lol I Love Prince with all my Heart but as far as Calm well I am Not and Loud I Sure am so he doesn't dig Scenes,Emotions or Intensity. I Swear To God Prince would Probably not Be Able to Handle me and go Mad... Yes,Mani is More his Type. I'd have him Drinking Apple Martinis and swimming Nude . I think Prince is Afraid and thinks I'm Too Psycho or Something..Plus I'm an Exhibitionsit and Very Outspoken. The Old Prince Could Handle me not this New INCANTATION. MANi is Calmer for him.. God Bless them both....

Why would Prince Marry someone Poor when he was Married to Mayte who lost his Child and was Gorgeous? Makes no sense. Must be Wrong! That's not SENSIble. I Don't Think Prince went INSANE ?
