Don't expect artwork on the 29th.

Those who are attending the movie screenings, at least:
I was told by the venue that the Musicology Cds will be in promotional white slip-covers with no artwork or liner notes...so if you want artwork and liners, you gotta buy the Columbia version on April 20th. If this has already been discussed, I apologize.

Let the bitching commence lol

Well, if someone scored it via NPGMC downloads, they wouldn't have liner notes or artwork either.

That makes sense to me, i bet its gonna be the same way at the shows... to carry 15,000 jewell cased cd's per show would require an additional trucking system.

If the CDs come in a cute slipcover like an old school 45 7" single, that would kind of rock. I wouldn't mind paying for the "real" packaged CD if the handouts we're getting were packaged as nifty little collector's items.

Fair enough, the pacaging is the most expensive part to manufacture (i assume)
so its win win for Prince, he gets kudos from the press for giving away his album and he can still rely on all his hardcore fans to purchase the album. and they say hes no businessman.

As an incentive to buy the album at the stores, it'd be nice if they included the Musicolgy video either as an enhanced CD or maybe even a DVD!Just a thought.

There damn straight BETTER be a DVD w/ the store copy if they want me to buy it again!

And I agree- an old school "45" looking plain sleeve would RULE!!

They are kinda cool. They want a premium for the cool silk-screening though.
They also make a DVD-R that looks like a movie reel.
