Votes needed for Prince Rolling Stone cover

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I think this is pretty relevant.

Go here and vote for Prince as the next Rolling Stone cover:

Yes!

It would be great to see him make the cover again...

Hope to see it happening sometime this year.

I agree that Rolling Stone doesn't have the same relevance that it once had. But it's still a major publication regardless and I figured that if Prince can't get on the cover of a major magazine this year, then he probably will never get another opportunity again... so I voted for him.

Be honest, if Prince is on the cover of Rolling Stone, will you buy it? I know for a fact I would.... if for no other reason than just to add to my collection.

Interesting. So is it just that you have a personal dislike of RS? or are you saying that you wouldn't buy ANY magazine with Prince on the cover UNLESS and ONLY if you thought that particular magazine had any "relevance"?

why would i buy a magazine just for whoever's on the cover? i'm more drawn to an article that interests me than whoever's mug is on the cover. and yes, i do dislike rs nowadays. when i was growin up it used to be the music magazine. nowadays, it's pretty much gone to the dogs. give me a copy of mojo and i'm happy.

I completely see how U feel Handclaps, and this post might unwittingly prove your point. I like Rolling stone, not a lot, but I like it. It lets makes me aware of a small amount of things that I want to be aware of in a small way. Little blurbs about hot pop stars. I honestly don't want to know a lot about Britiny Spears or Jessica Simpson or the likes, but by all means keep their pictures around. Rolling Stone doesn't have a lot of content. Look at it as the People of the music industry. They also had a pretty intresting article about Wesley Clark(who I was for but he dropped out), sadly he has almost nothing to do with music. But yeah U're right in a big way. If U're looking for content, Rolling Stone Isn't the way to go, look elsewhere.

Um, if Prince can charge Will Smith admission, he can put me on his staff and pay me to handle his publicity.

Didn't Rolling Stone recently leave Prince off their top guitarists list? Yeah, I'd like to see Prince on the cover of Rolling Stone...wearing those assless pants, and the guys who compiled that list kissing his gorgeous booty.
Now I'm gonna vote. wink

After the back to back issues with Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdord on the covers - the relevance was lost then and there!!!

Oh my, I didn't know Orlando Bloom was one of the choices. What to do, what to do.
Yeah right, like I didn't vote for Prince in a heartbeat. But I do love me some Orlando. batting eyes

This looks more like a marketing test to see what Rolling Stone readers want to see. If they got a lot of votes for Prince, they'll probably put OutKast on the cover or something. It's like those old ladies who stop you in the mall.

That having been said, I voted Prince too! biggrin
