Does Prince's Conversion to the Jehovah's Witness faith topple his greatest achievements from the past?

Does Prince's Conversion to the Jehovah's Witness faith topple his greatest achievements from the past?

The reason I ask the question is because he refused to play any sexually explicit song at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I know people change, but the hits like, "Do Me Baby", "International Lover", "Little Red Corvette" "Erotic City" "Head" and especially "Soft & Wet" are the tunes that help make him a star. Yes, I know he himself made himself this megastar, but it were those songs that caught everyone's ear and made us pay attention to his sexually driven messages.

I think he's allowed a religion that once denounced him as an artist to taint his view on what set him off as a geniune star.

I just think the newly converted Prince is "selling out" his musical past by allowing the witnesses to taint his view on what's appropriate material or not.

Just a comment, so don't bash me, okay?

Okay, seems like you're going to go there.

If you can't reply to the subject then why reply at all?

I could reply to your comment, but I'm not down to that level.

Peace to you.

No cause he did DMSR and Controversy and He is still Sexual like a Firecracker but he's Not Cursing cause it's Old and Uncool in his eyes and he's Married so he's Respecting Manuella. What ya want him to be Sleezy is that it? Well, he's above and beyond that . He's older and he's more Polished with himself.

I know what it is, and don't need it repeated. My question had nothing to do with motives. The question is silly.

I never thought his previous material was sleazy. Is that what you thought it was?

Yes, he can be polished, but singing an old song like "Little Red Corvette", I mean, what would that hurt. It won't diminsh his present character if he did so.

I could understand the cursing to a degree, but to not sing "LRC" or "Do Me Baby" at concerts, I mean, it seems so extreme.

Anxiety

He has the rest of his life to decide if he wants to do his "racy" material again, so there's no such thing as "never" until he's no longer alive. That's the FIRST thing.

The second thing is, so what if he's excluding a whole vein of his past material? It isn't as if there aren't tons of songs left for him to perform that are considered "appropriate material" in the here and now of his career.

Oh, you could reply to my comment, but you're not down to that level, eh? Uh huh.

Not a thing you said was deep in any form so it's not like nobody "gets" your question. Quite frankly, the question is silly, and in the context of how he's changed to say he's "selling out" bespeaks the fact that you don't know what that means. It's COMPLETELY illogical. Spin it any way you wish.

You know... curse words and sexually explicit songs aside, I do feel that his conversion has toppled what I deem to be a couple of his greatest achievements:

The Cross. This song should not have been touched. Don't believe in the cross no more? Write a new song about it.

Anna Stesia. On the One Nite Alone box set he sings: "Save Me Father..." instead of "Save me Jesus."

I might be nit-picking a little, but "Anna Stesia" is my all time favorite song of his. To change the words, or word as in this case, changes the song in a way that doesn't make me as happy when I hear the original. Maybe I am the only one that feels this way, but that's my opinion.

Replying to a silly question that happens to contain an illogical statement is 75% of the threads in this forum. Par for the course. thumbs up!

Okay, then what's your beef?

You seem to have gotten quite upset that I posed that question, but before I ever pose another one, I'll make sure I consult with you first, since you seem to only post logical and "deep" postings.

But please understand that everyone does hold your demeaner, because we're all individuals. So, if I posted something that you found distasteful, illogical, or even "funny", I didn't mean to offend, because, for God's sake, I didn't even know you were online to check if my posting would deem your approval, but believe me...

It won't happen again, Your Highness. (?????)

Now, I don't have a straight face on....(hahaha!)

He's a great musician. I've even loved his early jazz compositions, like Venus De Milo, Condition of the Heart (I consider it jazz...my grandmother even loved it, back in 1985), "Ballad of Dorothy Parker" (yes, some consider this jazzy). Thus, I agree, I was just hoping that he would include some of the more risque songs on the bill for his new tour.

Oh well, it's his tour and not mine. I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway.

Yeah, that would be interesting. I always wondered why he chose "Darling Nikki", instead of "Darling Vanity" or "Darling Apollonia" even. (smile)

Just joking.

Stop being a Dykish Tyrant or a Queenist Tormentor...as if I need your approval.

Go find a man, whore or some dog to cater to your dictatorial needs and sexual desires, because you seem to be running low.

I'm not the one and believe me, if I could say something more, just to let your "Street-wise" azz know what I mean, I would.

So please my dear...kiss and blow.

supernova; don't you think it's rude to laugh in someone's face when they ask a question, especially when they are already putting themselves on the line by asking it infront of everyone?

or would you prefer it if people were scared to post?

I don't like alot of posts but i don't try and laugh in their face.
