Check out their website, www.startribune.com The 30sec audio excerpt is listed on the front page. Excellent guitar work from Prince.

Very nice!

Btw, unless he playbacked the thing, the excerpt of Little Red Corvette is not from the HoF performance.

Great guitar, I love this song.

I have the original single on old vinyl from the Beatles, which my mother purchased in 1969.

Oh man... I can't wait to see this performance... if for no other reason than to see the look on people's faces while our Man throws down on someone elses song.

I think they must have already taken down the link to the clip. I just went and looked and the link wasn't where it had been earlier today.

The following link still works at the moment. Better get a listen before they take down the file altogether.

Hope this helps.

I think this performance is going to get the MOST praise from the other musicans & public.

sure we all have heard prince do his own music a thousand times! BUT when you show sooooo much heart & love for an Ex-Beatle's music.

Thats where you get the Hardcore Music fans, Hardcore Legends of Music & Reviewers calling you up, sending you telegrams, writing beautiful reviews,etc...

smile

I heard a few second clip of this song on my local news & wow it put chills through my body!

* I have seen most of the rock hall inductions! Most of the "Final Jams" suck! But I think this one with Prince is going to be the messuring stick cool

This is so true. I'm a big lover of the Beatles' music, and this totally rocks. Absolutely wonderful performance - captures the emotion perfectly. nod

And i definitely got them chills too. wink

that is the best live prince thing ive heard in the past few months, next to lets go crazy at the grammys. thank god it wasnt while my guitar gently weeps with the NPG, they would have made it sound like an over rehearsed, glossy, vegas number.

I couldn't have said it better. It's stuff like this that puts Prince's greatness into the kind of perspective where non-fans can see(hear) why his fans love him so much. I honestly believe that a lot of non-fans really do respect Prince as a musical artist already. But if someone isn't really into Prince's music then they really don't have a "measuring stick" as you say. But covering a Clapton guitar solo will make a lot of people say "okay... now I REALLY understand why Prince should be in the Hall of Fame".

I'm just really very proud of Prince right now. Finally, people can see once again that Prince wasn't and isn't just a "weirdo entertainer" but an honest to goodness hell of a musician and that's the real reason why he's been around so long and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

I posted this in another thread but I think it should be posted here as well:

Prince playing George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is not part of the all-star jam, it was part of the George Harrison tribute. I watched the raw feed yesterday. Trust me when I say he kicked a** on the solo!!!! When he leaned back off the stage and had Trevor catch him and at the end he throws down his guitar pick, throws his guitar up in the air and pimp walks off the stage..it was priceless!!! I had everyone in the office watching it and we kept playing that part over and over. His opening was great too.

Snow Queen- Thank u so much for that working link. Sound quality wasn't all that great but I get the idea. I'm sure the solo went on for more than 40 secs. Anyone there who saw the whole thing?

As someone who snapped up the LP of the White Album mainly for that song: who cares??? This is my dream come true.
