The "When 2 R In Love" video is a FAKE, yes?

Half of the lyrics printed on the screen are wrong, for example:

"Cover each other with the fluid and motion"

should be:

"Cover each other with perfume and lotion"

And there is at least one other mistake.

Am I wrong?

I'm sure this video wasn't made by Paisley Park...it's a bootleg that seems to have been leaked to the masses.

Sadly, I'm fairly certain it's legit. I have a copy of this with a Paisley Park/WB ID tacked to the beginning. Of course, that could be just as fake...but why bother?

hmmm...why so many mistakes then? this really is a sign of the lack of quality control Prince has had over the years, I guess. But it still could be a fake. It's just so crummy looking and the lyrics are all wrong...it just makes me want to cry, you know? It's been said before, but I'll say it againb...Prince can do better.

There was so much flying out of Paisley Park left and right at the time, and who knows what Prince oversaw or what his assistants even took a look at. Needless to say, that clip hardly has the earmarks of a project anyone could be especially excited in - it was probably a rush job just to have video promo material for whatever reason - and probably those involved in the making of the clip didn't give much of a shit about quality control. Sad, huh? I loathe the SOTT video too...

I love the SOTT video. Certainly think it's one of his best. Makes you concentrate on the message.
"London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

"YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

I had always assumed this clip had no involvement by Prince, and was just thrown together by WB. It's not like he was getting along well at the time. There was another clip or two at that time that didn't have any new footage of Prince but was just a collage of other footage.
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

Yes, it's official. And aren't there 2 versions - one uses a different typeface than the other?

The only time I ever saw the video was on "Beavis and Buthead"

The funny thing is that re-printing a copyrighted logo without permission is a FAR WORSE crime (in the eye's of the law) and carries a far worse consequence. i've no idea why. That's why bootleggers always steer away from using logo's when, as you say, it's easily done.

I actually like this video.

I think it was released by Warner Brothers if i'm not mistaken, at the time of the official release of The Black Album (92? 93? 94?). Just to give some sort of promotion to the album's release. Although, the track never was released as a single i think. Cause i remember that i looked very hard to find a CD-single of that release.. but never found one.

Was there a promotional CD-single release, anywone?
some info on the tracklist and somesort of catalogn° or scan of the credits would be great..
wink

I'm pretty sure the video is the real deal - you can watch it at Launchcast and they showed it as part of the rage Prince Special a while back. Isn't it supposed to be an extension of the whole "Black Album" concept?
