I've heard many times that in the clip of Alphabet ST the message "Don't buy the black album appears"

Can anyone confirm that it is the case, and if so where does it appear?

I was viewing the clip last night and I did'nt see any message,cation, etc.

Yes it does appear, though it only flashes up on the screen
for a second.

Just after Prince sings the first verse, he 'disappears'
behind an invisible wall (well... it's the best way I can
think of how to describe it). Now, written vertically down
this 'edge' that he walks behind are the words "Don't buy
the Black Album. I'm sorry.", but if you blink you'll miss it.

It's there for a split-second, when he disapears right after he sings "...she'll want me from my head to my feet". It's barely visible, and it's in purple verticle letters, it says "Don't Buy The Black Album, I'm Sorry."

That video is so cheap...I've seen better production at the mall. He must of spent less than a $100 to make that. Cheaper if he directed it himself...

I believe that he filmed this one snowy night in November or December according to Alan Leeds. Prince just wanted to film this video and only Alan was there to help out since everything was done at the last minute and the infamous Minn. weather kept most people away...

Actually he looks clean and pretty in that video 2 me,not that he looks dirty in his other videos but he doesnt have and facial hair...

Prince look so damn sexy in that video, with the wind blowing through his dark long hair.

Anyways, there is also the word EXTASY, which was the drug he used when he became close friends with Ingrid Chavez.

It doesn't matter that he did it cheap when he looks so cool in it.
Still think its one of his top videos and anyone who says they don't like the song is obviously not much of a Prince fan.
It's one of his funkiest moments!
