One Night Alone live box - marks out of 10?

I'm not completely blown away by the 1st 2 discs but the 3rd is hot. I'd give it 7/10 overall. What you say?

Haystack

First 2 discs get 1 out of 10 - apart from Xenophobia, the whole thing sounds like a lifeless re-working of some of his previously recorded songs with crowd noise dubbed on in the background.

Disc 3, however, is alive. 8 out of 10.

I prefer live discs to be of one concert. The box set being from several shows makes the whole, rather lifeless.

But that's probably just me.

I would have to rate it about a 5, because it sits on my shelf at home and in my car in plain view, and I rarely play it. sigh
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Co-sign. It would be my major complaint about this set, actually. The second one being: "everybody in the house, make some barf"
I'd give the following stars (out of ten):
CD 1: 8
CD 2: 7
CD 3: 5

Anxiety

As a whole, I'd give it a 7.2 outta 10 - good presentation, good illusion of substance with the heavy box and all, good try with the booklet. Didn't kick my ass, but an E for effort...

The music? I'm happy with discs 1 and 2 - I'd give 'em both at least a solid 8.9 - I'd rate it higher if he didn't make the audience sing so damn much (pet peeve).

Disc 3? I was most excited about this disc before the set came out, and now that I have it, it's the one I listen to least. It's too scattered, disjointed, amorphous...I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it just doesn't sound tight to me - Musiq gets on my LAST nerve on this disc, I can't stand that track, it goes in the "Arms Of Orion" purple jukebox from hell as far as I'm concerned - sometimes I can get in the right vibe to give it another spin, but I've heard far, FAR better aftershow recordings, though I'll admit there are several salvageable moments on "It Ain't Over" so it's not a complete waste. I'd give it a 6.4, and I'm debating if that's being a little generous...

i really love cd 1 and 2, especially cd2...i'm not a fan of medleys but i really get a big mile on my face when i hear the medley of hits on disc 2. i'd give disc1 8 outta 10 and disc 2 10 outta 10.

disc 3 is here and there. its great at moments (like 2 nigs and dorothy parker) and bad at moments (george and musiq). i'll give it a 5.

i'd like to say disc 2 is why i like p so much, almost all the tracks he plays at the piano are my faves .
ie; adore
sometimes..
how come u ..
nothing comp..
the list would go on and on.

when i play this disc i get goosebumps (nothing beats that feeling u cant xplain when your listening to music) the audience participation is just fab, when i'm listening to this in the car i get a great feeling, a big smile comes over my chops and i feel something thats good!!!

Disc 1 - 10 stars
Disc 2 - 7 stars
Disc 3 - 6 stars

Disc 1 - perfect.
Disc 2 - medleys get tiresome after repeated listenings & so does Everlasting Now.
Disc 3 - interesting but enough is enough - the jams all start to sound the same.
