This reminds me of one of my favorite books of all time: "Life on the color line: the true story of a white boy who discovered he was black." I read this book again for a class I'm taking this summer. The author came in to speak to the class about the book. A classmate asked: "So what do you think of yourself as? And he replied: "African American." You would never know it by looking at him.
