Prince gave songs to Linda Layton of Beats Int'l... but who is Linda Layton? Does she still perform? This was from an article I recently found from 1990. According to the article, he gave 3 songs to her... and I've never heard of this again.

She was the front female vocal with an outfit called BEATS INTERNATIONAL back in the early 90's ( I think), the band included Fat Boy Slim (Norman Cook), and sampled many a fine bassline/tune..most famously they had a hit with 'Just Be Good To Me' which sampled a really well known bassline from a Clash song.

I seem to remember she had a solo album out later and Prince did write something on it, but can't remember what now. My ideal of love comes from

I had the Beats International album around about 1990. They had a number one in the UK with 'Dub Be Good To Me' which wa a cover of the SOS Band's Just Be Good To Me.
