Where Were You when you first heard

I might had been in my cousin's house staying over, because I remember seeing the video there. Same goes for Diamonds & Pearls.

I heard it on TV several times before realising it was Prince. I wasn't really paying attention, and it was only when I looked closer and spotted him in that girly red outfit that I found out it was the new Prince single...

I must say, I hated it, and still do. Sappy saccharine yuckiness. Makes me puke.

It was premiered on some beauty pagent and I watched the show to hear the song. I thought it kind of sucked.

I was such a weird single... it came outta nowhere, and didn't really fit in with all the other stuff around that time...

I walked in the house and it was on MTV, I'd heard about it and was interested to hear it - I thought it was a bit wierd to be honest, but as the weeks went by and it went to #1 I was on cloud 9 that my new favourite artist was top of the pops!

Now I think it's sugary and twee, and haven't listened to it in years.

Well...uhhh, i was in the bathroom and i heard it on the radio. it sounded familiar. I was like ...this is a prince song i never heard. So i rushed out the bathroom 2 check it out.

they had it on the commercial for that show on fox, "models inc.", anybody else here in the states remember that commercial? that's the first time i'd heard it...

I heard it first on a tape sent to me and thought... that it was gonna be released soon and it was not to exciting but it had an original feel to it... I liked it and quickly made a copy for my girlfriend at the time... She said Who did Prince write it for... I said Mayte I think... but then said or someone else... I'm not sure...

Concerning the song, when I first heard it I cringed, like Ian said: sugary weak commercial shite!
