Prince ain't no Racist Silly People

Prince writes on little song and is label as racist. What the hell is wrong with you people? And you call yourselves fans confused ? Listen Prince is not a racist, if he was I don't think he would be married 2 Mannie... and white folks didn't complain when most of his band members where white, Wendy & Lisa, Dr. Fink, I never knew the drummer guy from the revolution band name... but damn people get a grip, Just like Mj after Prince crossed over 2 pop and rock, a majority of his music was catered to white folks. remember Prince is the who don't date sistahs so to speak... Prince did date Susannah and Kim Basinger yet he's a racist... Y'all just really need to stop being so damn defensive sometimes

why is it everytime a black artist bring up any history about their own people, they're label a racist anyways? I mean You never here black people calling the history channel a racist channel, because most of it's show talk about adolf hilter... if that's the case I guess Nas would be a racist too, for the song I can ... damn Shame :Disbelief:

I can't say if *today* he is racist or not, I don't really care.

I do know that he writes songs about subjects that get people talking, and all sides of the argument are presuming what they think he means in his lyrics which are vague and obscure at the best of times.

read above I said why is it that every time a black artist sings anything about history, they're labeled a racist? Yet it's okay to talk about Adolf Hitler

There's a lot of 'past-tense' in your post though.Prince should get his ass on to the NPGMC and clear this all up, once and for all.

I've been a never-wavering fan for twenty years, and even i'm having my doubts about the little fella at this moment in time.(since TRC actually)

It would be so easy for him to clear this up.

I don't think Prince has to explain himself at all ... he's a artist who's simply expressing his opinnon on the history that went down in america ... now what y'all want him to deny the history too?

No, it's his version of the truth. If he's stealthily putting other races down in the process, that is racist, or can be deemed to be.

Wha? Of course it's OK to talk about Adolf Hitler.

To discuss or account something is not to endorse it.

James Brown is married to a white woman. And Prince has eaten so much white pussy that there's NO way that he's a racist.

You do know that people are individuals right, we all have our own identity, even white people!! wink

"White people" didn't do anything in the past, crimes were committed by people (who were white), but that has doesn't mean "white people" today have anything to feel guilty about, and they sure as shit don't owe anyone a collective apology from the whole white race.

Well like my grandmother told me, it's gonna take this generation to help heal the wombs of the last generation, as you can see it still effect us all, because either way it goes ... it was our people, our ancestors, our past and history it is apart of who we are today, that's why it's gonna take us to make it all up, but we would rather go azz backwards, segregate each other while calling each other hypocrites and everything else... just don't make much sense since to me, but hey that's the way it is nod

Hmmm, well I can see that black people are still hurt over what happened to their ancestors - so I can see your point.

But a rapist's great, great grandchild has no responsiblity to the to victims great, great grandchild.

I guess the real question is... then who responsibilties is it?

Easy to blame, hard to heal no one takes action and the cycle repeats

The crime was comitted by people long since dead.

So it is the responsibility of ALL of us to make sure it never happens again, and that we stamp out racism whereever we see it.

As for the black people still hurting over past events, I think they would find resolivng the issue within themselves helpful.

but the thing is... our history was basically stolen from us, they don't teach it to us in school and if we don't know the truth of what really wen't don't how could we even begin to heal? It's if a black person really wants to find out what happened, he has to look for it on his own, cuz otherwise he'd be ignorant, living in the dark not knowing, that's what y'all don't seem to understand...

this is hundreds of yrs of damage and it's gonna take hundreds yrs 2 get it right... but it don't look like it's happening

I'm on my own quest of the truth right now, I read black history books all the time ..... nod

I agree that is disgusting - but the responsiblity for teaching this doesn't lie with all white people, it lies with the educational bodies and government of your country - which are white men yes, but don't tar all white people with the same brush - taring all black people with the same brush is often referred to as stereotyping and being racist wink

In a way I'm glad that the issue of Prince's alleged racism is being raised. It brings out a lot of varied opinions from us.We Prince fans are such a diverse folk. The irony is that this issue re Prince won't even get a blip as far as coverage in the national press. Prince alleged sex orgies ? yes. His racism? No.
