Dream Factory

I can't believe that I'd never heard of this unreleased album until I read Possessed.

I shall be getting hold of a copy in the next few days.

How excited should I be?

I have a copy and I like it. However, if you have SOTT you have most of the material already.

IMO it's really a great album.
Even if it's true that a lot of songs are on SOTT, the lost tracks are memorable ("Witness", "In all my dreams", "Train", the original "Strange Relationship" and so on...).
Undoubtly one of my favourite Prince records.

What are "Visions" or "Train"? Has anyone heard them? Also, I thought "Splash" was going to be included on that album.

I agree, you should be excited. It's nice to hear the SOTT stuff in a different context. This album slams.

Okaypimpn - 'Visions' is a short, piano instrumental (maybe 2 minutes long) featuring Lisa Coleman. It was also released as a bonus track on one their albums ('Eroica'?) on a 2nd, ltd edition disc but entitled "Minneapolis #1'.

It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL and - according to D.M.S.R. - it was something she pretty much improvised. on the spot. It is spine-tinglingly beautiful! heart

I was quite surprised Prince chose a Lisa Coleman composition (not feauring himself) to open 'Dream Factory' but apparently it was all part of the 'collective' approach to the album, where everybody would have an input.

As for 'Train' - I think was given to Mavis Staples.

Anyay, you GOTTA hear the alternate version of the title track. worship Amazing!

Now... where can I find me a copy of the original 'Crystal Ball' album???
