Montreaux Shows - who owns the film?

Does anyone know if it'll ever be possible for these fantastic shows to see light? Those 2009 and 2013 shows were some of the best shot videos of him ever.

Imagine the Estate cutting a deal to stream this, and of course issue a blu ray release with full ATMOS sound.

Would be great for an official release, but the video quality on Youtube is great, and you also have the aftershows on there.

I imagine that you imagine that others imagine that this would be imanginable, but never manageable.

Prince Montreux Jazz concerts

This was discussed a couple of years ago - There will be a mix of owners including, obviously, Prince and the Montreaux management.

Apparently there were discussions between the owners for a release by Montreaux, but the block was the amount of money Prince wanted. Perhaps it would be different if the Estate wanted to do a release. This could be good or bad - bad if Montreaux wants to maintain its controls and rights on festival performances.

Nevermind - It's the same discussion as with Small Club.

The audio and the video is out there already in fantastic quality. Given the painfully limited amount of official releases from the Estate, it would be like a wasted bullet to put these out instead of something actually previously uncirculating.

It seems to be mostly forgotten, but around 2013, Prince did release a trailer for the 2009 concerts, with the intention of them being released. Of course, this never eventuated.

True.

The 2013 Montreux shows were obviously mixed in post production. The versions we have of them are perfectly releasable.

The 2009 shows, while great, seem to have audio from the soundboard (which includes the mix most appropriate for the room, rather than home entertainment systems) and the video is in low resolution and has a watermark.

A proper release of the 2009 shows wouldn't be a bad move by any stretch, if possible.

The wider public should definitely see these - but it is a waste when releases are so scarce and they're in very good quality on YouTube.

I believe there is, but it's only been seen by a very small group of people. It's not widely circulating. In contrat, the Montreaux shows are easy to find on UTube.

Why can't so many people on the org spell the town's name right? It's Montreux, without an a.

Nah, the Estate should absolutely put these out officially, they need to be streaming on Netflix or Amazon or one of these places where the normies might actually stumble on it.

This is a case where nothing would need to be digitized, remixed, mastered, etc. All the HD files, stereo mixdowns, etc. are just waiting to be officially released. This is so frustrating.

I know these are circulating in great quality but would it not be great to see a physical release? Use the latest tech and make these shows look incredible and also an ATMOS sound track...

Give it to the streaming services so to give more people exposure to the greatest live act of all time.

Yes, I was just giving my point of view as someone living near Montreux: misspelling and/or mispronouncing "Montreux" is a long-standing tradition. lol Nothing specific to the Org.
