Nah, there's a LOT we haven't heard and/or hasn't been in circulation beyond a very select few... though some things we've definitely heard, but in incomplete ways. Like instrumental tracks without the vocals. |

I doubt that it'll happen. The recent "Another Lonely Christmas" post on Instagram triggered me 2 believe that The Estate still likes the 2017 PR Deluxe Edition, this part of the post: "“Another Lonely Christmas (Extended Version)" can also be found on the Purple Rain Deluxe Expanded Edition that was released in 2017."
I was like, "Oh! 2017 actually was not long ago, and we got that spanning PR remaster and deluxe edition, so The Estate is indicating in this Instagram post that we've got all the PR stuff that they want us 2 have."
Perhaps they will simply release the 2017 PR Deluxe Edition as a vinyl boxset, due 2 the ongoing strength of the vinyl format and because we didn't get a vinyl boxset of it in 2017.
From the leaks and posts that we've seen over the past couple years, I guess 2024 could see these releases: "Old Friends 4 Sale", "Crystal Ball", and "purplelectricity whenever our bodies touch" |

It would be a shame if they allow the 2017 deluxe edition to remain the final documentation of that era.That set is flawed in many ways.The remastered PR album is a mess and needs to be done right. | |

They just need to make a Prince Vault streaming service so we can sign up and pay for a subscription to just hear all of it. Certain material can be obtained by purchase and of course the store will offer lossless flac downloads | |

Because the estate twitter account is purple and purple is in the name of the Purple Rain 2017 edition I have chosen to conclude this means they are satisfied with the release as presented in 2017 and we will not be getting another one. |

it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow suit on the syracuse concert and re release the pr vault disks from the original masters as a stand alone release .. the pr deluxe had a lot of subpar source material compared to what they supposedly now have access to .. they could just call it roadhouse garden ... | |

That being said, on the flipside, I find that the lack of available PR vinyls and CDs in the official store could be a sign that they have run down inventory 2 zero 2 make way 4 all the new PR releases in 2024. Will they release something this spring when D&P SDE just came out? There's still no leaked photos or tracklist for any kind of Purple Rain release. My guess is that there will be an announcement in the next few months and a release by the end of the summer. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

I've bought these SDE's and the PR deluxe but I'll draw the line at another Purple Rain cash grab. I'm not interested. Frankly, I'm not interested in anything he did post LotusFlower either. However, that leaves tons of material I would be interested in.
Personally, I'd like a Lovesexy/Black album era release. Parade is a little redundant with SOTT and the Victor/Love Symbol album likewise with D&P. Seeing as how the vault material with D&P was underwhelming they should wait on releasing a project from that same time frame anyway. I won't lie though- I'd still buy it.

Rough said: The Purple Rain DE was already released a few years ago - only a vinyl edtition was missing. My guess is there will be a Deluxe vinyl edition of it with minor changes - minus the Live album which was released seperately last year already. If the plan was to do a SDE they would have hold the LIve content back! It makes no sense to make a "new" Deluxe Edition, people already bought it. Maybe a special edition of the movie on blueray and a Record Store Day special Edition (color Vinyl) will come - but no new SDE will be released is my guess. They hinted at a 40 year purple rain anniversary super deluxe set with the other 40 songs left off of the other deluxe set. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment | |
