i've never been one for the ex's books, never, so i couldn't care less about mayte's book or any of the rest. It's the music and the man I care about and the women in a man's life usually seem to not have a good perspective of either. I would never read Priscilla Presley's book and I've read just about all the good elvis books, just don't see how someone so plain could have any conception of the greatness she was around and being so close probably helped in no way.

forutnately, much of the info these people have is already out there anyways with the endless podcasts and interviews. I loved kim at first but she really dissapointed me selling socks and hair, I don't think I'd be interested in her book now. Susan Rogers, Alan Leeds, maybe even a joint Revolution bio would be fantastic. Lots of people, odd as it is, i always thought of prince as a loner and he was but he still managed to get around, as susan rogers had to teach me, "he loved people" which I always thought was off the table. Those were my projections I guess, I always thought he was like me, avoided everyone he could and just worked.

I bet many people would love a salacious book from Andy but won’t say it. From what we know anyway his last openly acknowledged muse and sexual connection. But his song says she’ll take it to her grave (if that’s who he was talking about).

Judith Hill was his last.

Judith’s book would be very sad. I couldn’t bear to read her first hand account of losing mj and then prince. Especially prince as it’s so personal to her. What were the chances she’d be close by two such tragic deaths. I’d be very interested to know why he sent everyone home the day before he died and also what happened on that place. Perhaps she would have insight. Or perhaps she can’t say. She did very well to keep going after those knocks.

Saying that maybe Judith could give us all the closure we need. Tell us what was happening and what was going on. I feel this is unlikely though to ever happen probably out of her understandable loyalty to our man.

she said to the police that she was 50/50 on suicide, I used to think she may have been right. I'm still not sure but i don't think him being hooked is as far fetched as I once did. Some have said we were in denial with the drugs, it wasn't that, it was how I couldn't figure out how he functioned like that. I know nothing of opioids, some people say you can function fine being hooked on them, but just the other day I'm reading about the homeless explosion in seattle and opioids is the one culprit mentioned as being so crippling. I still don't know.

I know my opinion won't be popular, but no one, unless they strictly write about the music. Prince was always so private and having these books come out about his life just seems so wrong somehow. I mean, yes, I know we'd all love to learn more about him, but he gave us everything he had to give. And, I guess, it just seems wrong to me to have these people start writing about him, knowing they wouldn't have if he had been here still.

I know, I know I once felt the same but then I thought well in 30 years time finding people who were there and knew him will be a nearing impossible luxury or at least a dwindling population. I guess I just want it all documented now while we can. Maybe it’s the history nerd in me. He hasn’t any direct descendents to chat to us, you know.

It really depends on the content of the book. Salacious stories I don't care for. But the music, the tours, the style the culture is another.

Also depends on who you refer to, 1/2 the people expressing their time, have been talking when he was alive.

Also people make books that include Prince, because Prince was a part of their career too, but they also talk about their beginnings and after Prince.

it's true, we don't know how he would feel if he knew he was dead, sometimes I think that maybe he wanted it with people telling how great a person he was when he died and that he preferred the mystique and negativity when he was alive, now that it's game over, why not? We know how he'd feel if he was alive, he'd be suing everyone in sight. It was a quirk, how much respect do we have for that quirk? I don't know, i selfishly love hearing it all and don't feel a bit of guilt.

When he died, I had reporters contacting me on Twitter, asking me if I'd recorded any of his final concerts in Atlanta. I told them "no", that I had respected his wishes and he had not want recordings made of his concerts, and I wished they would respect him, and his wishes, too.

I guess I had that mindset for so long while he was living, that it's hard for me to let it go now that he's gone.

the Author prince investigation is updating his book with more sources

‪Confirmed: #Prince did *not* suffer from a chronic or pre-existing illness. Multiple sources now say no signs of cancer, neurological disease or AIDS were found at autopsy. Additionally, no medications or medical treatment were ever administered to Prince for any of the above.‬

A couple posters who claimed to be in or close to prince have hinted at some issue and of course the blind item which prince saw the night he died which claimed he had aids. He was so far in damage control that one poster said it pushed him over the edge.

Not trying to be rude but his sources are people involved in the investigation ect...his sources are more reliable than random people online claiming to know him. His expanded edition of the book will be out this summer

we had a couple people, maybe 2 or 3 that i'm aware of that seemed really close, having knowledge of a 2011 od which almost killed the man, (true) and although they wouldn't say much, they did say he had some sort of underlying health issue. I actually thought the aids theory may have been true because I never saw prince going out like that, never, i thought it was suicide for the longest time and still kinda do. Of course, as i've said from the start, the officials lie whenever they feel like it and in Prince's case, the real info is scant so any book written on the death is going to be more conjecture. It's still a mysterious death, I tend to vascillate between the different ways he could have died, the problem with the pills that he took was how would someone be so stupid as to take the same shit that almost killed him the week before? Was Prince that stupid? I even thought that he tried to kill himself then and maybe did it when he could get some space a few days later. Why? who knows. Judith did say he made cryptic remarks about his time being up and being depressed and reminiscing about the "good old days". Then, of course there was the fact that most addicts that far into their addictions cannot function and cannot hide it. As I said in either this or another thread, seattle has a huge homeless problem and opioids are given as the main cause, it's not a drug that helps most people function. I have heard that some people can function quite well on them, maybe prince was like that. I know nothing about real addiction, I never had a smoke, an illegal drug and i only drank when my crazy parents made me as a kid. i know nothing about addiction other than I hate it.

i'm with you there, that wasn't fun when we did it here the past 3 years. I don't see how a guy can get good info for the book, it's not available in factual form. sounds like a load of crap to me.
