Of all of Prince's various and myriad "eras" the 1980-1981 Dirty Mind/Controversy era is my favorite.

It was a bare-bones, gritty, punk-infused, raw, in-your-face, fearless and brave era.

Prince was underground and dangerous and scary...and even menacing.

The songs were uncluttered and not 'fussy'.

And it seemed like Prince was swimming in earworm hooks like no other time!!!

I love the Rude Boy Era!!! Who else does too????

I agree Prince had great image ,great songs and raw rnr shows
