April 21st is approaching again.

On that day in 2016, when Prince left us, a message I received got me to a friend's house, and we spent that evening celebrating him by playing his music, we had Purple Rain on the TV with the sound down (because we were listening to other stuff). We shot pool and shared Prince stories that we knew about him and that came from our own lives as we raised glasses in his honor. It went late into that night.

As time passed, when we got together, a couple of times, for some reason or another, someone would say, "Remember Prince day??" so that's how we refer to it. And as the 1st anniversary approached, we agreed that it was something really good that we'd done, so we did it again. It was a little bigger, a little louder, and we decided that it was now something that we'd always do, as long as we are able.

Some people have said that his birthday would be more appropriate, but we decided to keep it on this date because that's when it started for us.

Once again, I expect that it will be a little bigger... more people... more songs... more singing... more Prince clothes...

As we make plans for the 3rd event, I started wondering... is anyone else doing this? If so, what do they do?
