Could P have had metallosis (a blood infection from hip surgery) that caused pains?

Hear me out.

I researched this a bit and thought of a very unfortunate set of circumstances.. P had a scar on one of his hips. Many folks assumed that he had scar tissue removed (rather than hip replacement) due to his religious aversion to blood transfers. But honestly, I can't imagine scar tissue removal would be enough to allow him to do the kind of dancing he was doing in the Welcome to America tour in 2011. Now what if that scar was indeed a scar from a hip replacement.

Now, the symptoms of metallosis (which start occuring anywhere from 4 to 9 months but within four years of the surgery) are agitation, pain, tremors, bone deterioration, dizziness, confusion, organ failure, heart problems etc and you don't necessarily feel the symptoms right away. By the way, the only way to detect metallosis is a blood test. People more likely to get metallosis are either women, people of small frames, highly active people and/or obese people. P was not obese or a woman obviously. But he was obviously small and very very active.

Lets say P got hip replacement in 2010 on one of his hips, winged himself off of pain meds, was doing great, gained weight, danced around==all the while not knowing he has gotten metallosis. (By the way, there was a recall of a certain hip replacement metal in year of 2010 due to toxicity and metallosis--coincidence?) Anyhow after 2011-2012, he starts experiencing pain with increasing intensity, has no idea why and is either afraid, stubborn, or too busy to look into it. So he starts taking pills again. Maybe he starts thinking that God is breaking him down physically (pay for his sins kind of thing) because he can't figure out why a hip replacement from a year or a year and an half ago would start hurting again. So around 2013, he is on a pain pill regiment and just doing his thing. the pain doesn't improve and the pill usage slowly increases. Doctors won't give him anymore pills because they don't see how he could still have pain (maybe he is going to some quack who doesn't know about these hip joint recalls). So, he starts dancing a bit less, wearing more comfortable shoes, increasing his pills so he can keep working. He starting writing music like Breakdown and thinking that maybe he is dying (maybe dropping hints to his sister.) Fast-foward to 2015, the pain is too much so he decided on P and M tour. The first overdose occurs. The hospital in Moline suggests that he get a better pain regiment, wing himself off pills and look into the condition of his hips. His people contact Dr. Shulbarg who runs a test to see if it is metallosis. They suspect that he has let the metallosis remain too long and the damage is irreversable but they don't know for sure if he has it. P dies before finding out for sure...either through chose or erronously taking those awful street pills. Kirk knows that P has pain but doesn't realize that the addiction has started to get out of hand until the Moline overdose. Judith figures P's overdose was a wakeup call and that he will just take it easy (for once) and take prescribed pills from shulbarg (until she returns for her rumored two week a month stay-overs in PP)...but then she gets concerned and makes phone calls from LA about pain regiment/drug withdrawal doctors.

No, why do you sound offended?. I researched it..and got to thinking how this diagnosis could fit within the time frame. i stand by the coroner's report as well. Nothing I said doesn't jell with the coroner's report. The coroner's report states what killed him (fentanly) not what else could have been wrong with him. We dont know what the blood tests were for.

of course. I just think it makes sense...I could never wrap my head around how much he danced during the WTA tour and the theory that all he had was removal of scar tissue. Its a ton of theory but you guys act like I was coming up with some completely unreasonable speculation. I was trying to fill in the gaps with some medical theory that isn't as salicious as "P was murdered by the illumanati, Kirk, his sister, or some jilted lover nonsense. But I am the one who gets comments with emojis smoking doobies (see below)...

Duh..its speculation. I get the sarcastic doobie-smoking emoji for a medical theory...meanwhile people are speculating that P was murdered by the illuminati, WB, his sister or kirk constantly and no smart-ass emojis. By the way, there is this little thing called the internet where facts about metallosis's symptoms, causes, etc can be found. (FACTS)...I applied the facts to a theory...that's all.

I agree. It's much easier to keep this discussion going in one thread.....otherwise, it's TMI. eek

You can guys can blast away all you want. True or not true at least this person comes up with a thoughtful theory. Not saying I believe any of it but it's easy to criticize, the poster brings up some valid points

The points are only valid if Prince had a hip replacement - of which there is absolutely no proof.

True. We've established he had a hip procedure, but not a replacement. The scar only on one side is indicative of when they go in and scrape the scar tissue from the joint area. A real hip replacement would put scars on both sides. It's impossible to do from just one entry point. The autopsy noted that one scar, not two, on his hip area. I asked three different friends who are nurses, and all gave me the same answer about the scraping of scar tissue. (I'm too lazy to look up the word for it.)

OKay, thank you.

I looked this up on webmd.com...couldn't help myself...

https://www.webmd.com/osteoarthritis/guide/hip-replacement-surgery#1

While most hip replacement surgeries today are performed using the standard technique (one 8 to 10 inch cut along the side of the hip), in recent years, some doctors have been using a minimally-invasive technique. In the minimally-invasive approach, doctors make one to two cuts from 2 to 5 inches long. The same procedure is performed through these small cuts as with standard hip replacement surgery.

The small cuts are thought to lessen blood loss, ease pain following surgery, shorten hospital stays, reduce scar appearance, and speed healing..

However, it's important that the surgeon be highly skilled in this technique. Research has shown the outcomes with minimally-invasive approach may be worse than with standard hip replacement surgery if done by a doctor who is not very experienced with this technique.

Since there can be some blood loss during hip replacement surgery, you may need a blood transfusion, so you may want to consider donating your own blood before the procedure.

A couple interesting things... according to this article, the minimally invasive surgery has more than one scar. Also, why would JW's care if you re-use your own blood..
