LL Cool J can get a Kennedy award in 2017 because he is alive and Prince can't because he is not.

According to the recommendation form: The Kennedy Center Honors provide recognition to living individuals who throughout their lifetimes have made significant contributions to American culture through the performing arts.
However, if there could be a posthumous one given, I'd rather it not be while Trump is in office. He'd likely sit there scowling through the whole thing.

Okay, they say they honor LIVING artists, but I still wrote in. I mean, let's be honest, Prince is dead yes, but his influence and contribution will never die, so it would be ridiculous if they wouldn't honor him just because he's dead.
