I should have been clearer - I meant in high quality as part of some sort of official release (like Pocessed on Purple Rain Deluxe).

Would Extraloveable fall into the 1999 sessions? If so, then if a super deluxe version of 1999 is ever released, I imagine it would be a good fit.

It is strange though - despite not being inteded for Purple Rain, it would have actually fit pretty well on it (I think it might have been a bit mismatched on 1999).

Well, you're not wrong.

The lyrics hint at Dez leaving Prince's band and Wendy joining, which happened after 1999 was released, so it's possible Extralovable was recorded in-between the 1999 and Purple Rain sessions.

Personally I don't think it fits with the Purple Rain album though, here's my reasoning:

- Extralovable is almost eight minutes long, which suits the long tracks of 1999 but sticks out like a sore thumb in Purple Rain, where most songs are nearly half that length.

- While the controversy of Darling Nikki increased the popularity of Purple Rain, Extralovable has rape lyrics which crosses the line. Again, 1999 swept more explicit lyrics under the radar.

- I guess you could say Extralovable sounds like a Purple Rain track because it's more guitar-heavy - but it is still carried by a very 1999-like LinnDrum LM-1 beat. The beat even starts the song!

It's really a bad-ass song. Wish it would be leaked in full and in best quality.

I’d be interested to know which boot this is in, too. I have it in decent quality, but would definitely not call it excellent.

I'd like to know too. I've got all the recent boots from the last few years and have not heard the early Extraloveable close to anything I'd call excellent quality. I've alwyays found the boots of it hard to listen to. Same with Large Room With No Light, although I'm perfectly happy with the updated version he did of that one.

The best AFAIK is the one on BFTP 3. I find the sound quality pretty excellent. It could be better I'm sure, but for a bootleg it's pretty much as good as can be for something that comes from a 35 years old tape and hasn't been mastered professionally.
