Floating in a River!

Listen to what Morris, who was with Prince from 1992-2012, says starting around 3:20 mins. Especially around 4:00: "If you find me floating in a river"! Very Chilling! They didn't find him in a river but they did find him in a elevator...

Prince told people where to go and how to get there and I know he pissed people off. We just do not know if it was enough for someone to hurt him.

i'm interested in whether these people actually believe that, meaning the people around him who've insinuated that and there have been a couple.

ya, but that's kinda unheard of, in politics, there are reasons i could see but why a musician who's place in the public eye wasn't that strong, he didn't have any hold over the general public. Money? sure, money is always a great motivator but i need to see proof.

We'll never know, but perhaps that is why he chose to not leave a will. He believed people wanted him to die. His social media posts hinted as much. When you are Prince naming people in a will, and making them aware they are beneficiary, might lead you to question their relationship with you. All that is just to say perception matters more than reality.

Still, it's not clear that his death has been profitable. Who HAS benefitted since his death? Record companies? It's been a big time consuming mess getting things to a point where they might profit from a modestly sized fan base that is shrinking every day. Cost prohibitive as the business types say. Perhaps that was his plan, too.

If so, good for him. cool

—-It does not have to be about business it could have been personal. Look at the money grab by many associates almost from the minute he died. If no one was checking for Prince all these years (which is not true ) why did we see the bootlegg merchandise and music pop up so soon?
We know he had deaths from some crazy women just a decade ago. He had crazy women jumping over the fence at Paisley. I am not going to even go into Patrick Cousins stealing a church after he died, Kirk disappearing on a vacation and from what we can see from the court docs no money from his last concert tour. Phedra claiming to have POA, and M2 trying to trademark L4OA just a few days after he died. He had opportunistic money grubbing people around who continuing to enrich themselves.

His estate made 16 million this year. Kirk and his entire family are working Paisley Park, Associates some of whom have not been on stage in years are touring. Ex-wives are writing books, jump-offs and side pieces are making money. 20k worth of audio and video were hauled out of Paisley. What are you talking about?

I'm talking about someone's idea the record companies may have orchestrated his death for profit. Sure, people that were in his orbit are now trying to make money on the side from tell all books, crappy T-shirts, and holiday ornaments. That's expected. IMO - doesn't point to a large scale plan for benefitting from his death.

But this idea the record companies set things in motion so they could turn the event into a money printing machine for making a windfall, afterwards, seems flawed. Since his death - his state of affairs, and a dwindling fan base, seems to have made it no easier for the record companies to make money off his music.

If there are 100k people who would be willing to spend $30 on a new Prince album (potentially yielding $3 million) and it costs $10 million to do the deal... or that 100k customer base keeps shrinking... fuhgeddaboutit.

All the legal wrangling and production costs seem cost prohibitive, not worth their investment. And there seems no vision for generating interest in the music so they can sell vault material or remasters.

—I do not think any record company had anything to do with his death but if you think the suits are boo hoo hooing you are sadly mistaken. As far as his associates coming out of the woodwork I have never seen anything g live it. The estate managers have 5 deals on the table and UMG sure was ready to fork up money to get the license the music. Most of the material is going to be streamed so the cost will be minimal and the money going into the estate endless. Prince knew what he was doing when he stockpiled that material and what he was doing when he had no will. The courts are sorting it out without his family screwing up.

—So If Someone did something foul they should just get away with it? I guess it is okay to talk about the money making potential but not circumstances around his death? Maybe you need to take a vacation from these types of topics?

He could have had a will and nobody know whose in it until unsealed or read by a attorney, executor, etc. if he wanted to set up that way.

Unless he had a pill stamp factory in the basement of Paisley Park whoever got those drugs for him did indeed kill him and can be charged. May not have been the intent but people are being charged with murder for providing these drugs.

How is that comment surprising to anyone? Of course Prince knew he was ruffling feathers to the point someone might take action one day. He was smart and fearless, but at the same time guarded, and intelligent ehough to realize the evil ways of man. History has proven this, so the comment really should not be surprising to anyone.

THe Kirk Johnson thing bothers me the most. Everybody making a profit off P in some way or another is either okay with Johnson or directly supportive. Only those not making money off of P are having issues with him, but those folks might be going at him because they wish they were making money off of P. Its all so sad. A man's life don't seem to mean much in the scheme of things. There are some charming likable folks in P's camp but my doubts about their sincereity always pop up when I think about their complete and unconditional support of Johnson. Unless, that is, he explained himself. But who knows. Its almost like they think Kirk was Prince's victim..like they are saying "Look what Prince put Kirk though, Poor Kirk.. he was forced to choose between doing the right thing and his job. I am not sure what I would do." Well, the line in the sand seems like it should be pretty clear where illegally procuring drugs is concerned..(Unless that Mekon Bekure lady was the one doing it.)

I know your last line is true and insane. Even if this was a sucide from Kirk's screaming on that 911 tape I doubt he was involved or knew about death coming. I am not sure why associates are boo hoo hooing for him. He is alive and well.

If he knows something and some sort of arrangement has been made so he gets his mouth shut that is even more appalling.
