....and after I buy my VIP ticket, I get this e-mail!

Exclusive Preview Night Event - Oct 26

As a special offer to our Purple Friends & Family, we are hosting an exclusive private preview of the My Name Is Prince exhibition, taking place on Thursday, October 26th at The O2. You can be one of the first to see the exhibit! Tickets to the pre-opening gala will include:

• Access into the three VIP rooms with a white glove artifact experience
• Exclusive supervised photo opportunity in the VIP rooms
• Special guests in attendance
• Special takeaway bag of Prince merchandise
• Celebratory glass of bubbles upon arrival
• * Note that photography will not be permitted in the main exhibition.

Tickets are extremely limited for this special event on the 26th, so those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase now while supply lasts. Tickets can be purchased via the official Paisley Park website.

We look forward to seeing you in London!

#MyNameIsPrince

...although at £140 per pop, I'm kind of glad I wasn't in a position to talk myself into this!

I reckon the merchandise bag will be a Planet Earth CD and a LotusFlower t-shirt!!

It's Friday and you CAN'T buy tickets from the official exhibition website!

BUT, you CAN buy a private preview from the Paisley Park website:

Very odd indeed!

I'm glad the old Prince way of doing things hadn't changed!

lol lol lol

Just got the PP exclusive preview night email invitiation too but as you rightly said at £140 a pop...I'm happy with the VIP ticket until I actually get to PP next yr. I look forward to hearing reports from anyone who attends though.

I'll save the extra to spend at the merch shop, I have enough copies of planet earth from the 21 night residency lol so I'm looking forward to some new things from the exhibition.

I thought £25 for a standard ticket was a bit high (especially for your average member of the public), but £60 for VIP and £140 for the preview night!??

.

Who charges extra for a preview night!? eek

Also gone VIP - I would probably have regretted not paying the extra.

Friday 3rd November

Looking forward to it. We saw 2 of the 21 nights at the O2

Don't think they should have ran an Elvis exhibition alongside this one. The Elvis one starts a week later. Prince holds the record for the longest residency at the o2 so to slide an Elvis exhibition in the same exhibition centre at the same time go one way to this room for Elvis and the other way to this room for the Prince exhibit to me is all kinds of wrong.
Two separate exhibits to be clear but the same time same venue ----nope !

Just bought my ticket for the Paisley Park Purple People Private Preview.
Okay that's not exactly the name of the ticket, but I wish it was.
I know, £160ish is a lot, but I thought, what the hell, I'm only going the once.

Although I am thinking about buying a standard ticket for the following week.
Or maybe a VIP.

Hopefully they'll be selling the Paisley Park Tour books there.
Grits and gravy, cheese eggs and jam...
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine and a side order of ham.

I imagine the white glove artefact experience will be the holding of one of Prince's instruments, possibly the purple acoustic guitar in the Cream video that's part of the limited period Ultimate Experience tour at Paisley Park that's mentioned here...

http://www.startribune.co...441644933/

Is there something about the midwest were people do nothing but bitch about the cost of everything even if they are not spending their money.

Does Mr. Bream not realize what concert tickets cost these days? At least at Paisley you get a meal with your visit.

I wonder if Mr. Bream gave away the profits he made from his book about Prince or the one is suppose to be writing now?

I'll see what I can do wink
Hopefully it'll be soooo good, that 1000 words will be the minimum word count.

Well I went for a standard ticket as an one man protest against the VIP experience having exclusive exhibits. I don't think Prince would have been cool with that - I'm sure he would have wanted the full exhibition to be affordable for the fans. Maybe one of those nutty psychics on YouTube can channel him and find out...

Probably the plan all along.

Even before this was announced the FAQs on the website said "closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day" ... if it was only 21 days from end of October, surely Christmas isn't even an issue ...

I totally agree, I also thought that.

However it makes a mockery of marketing this as a three week residency and parallelling this to the concert run.
