I edited my comment in order to fix the link. It wasn't working because of the period at the end. . I understand that all of the business agreements are sealed, but I don't even remember seeing an Order referring to the filing of the Estate-NPG-UMG agreement. I was looking for such an order yesterday and didn't see one. It could be that I don't understand what I'm reading; as I said, I'm not a legal expert. . Yes, the same people who are managing Graceland are now managing Paisley Park. Why would that irritate you, just curious.......

THat Elvis Presley Enteprises OWNS Officialpaisleypark.com ? Just seems wrong... Michael Jackson outbidding Paul McCartney for the Beetles Catalogue seemed wrong to me too...
MJ made millions from that deal...and Elvis,s Estate will no doubt make money from Prince. I dont like it.... Thats ALL...

The original Order for the contract between the Estate and UMG is also sealed. You wont find any Orders for the agreement with Graceland for the operation of Paisley Park either, and for any other business agreeements the Estate enters into.

Managing does not mean owning. Just like an apt complex, the owner hires a manager to collect the rent, keep the place repaired so on and so forth. PP is owned by the Estate and managed by Graceland. Its not a tragedy its business. people get paid to handle business, so yes graceland will get paid for their services.

Actually....EPE OWNS the DOT COM Officialpaisleypark.Thats what Im talking about... Elvis Presley Enterpises is an organisation created to Manage ELVIS,s Assets.
I do get that this was a business decision but In their haste to open up the Doors to Paisley I think the Estate made a mistake.
THey should have left this aside for a while and concentrated on getting us the MUSIC...
The Museum was intended, but who made the decision that Opening the Doors to Paisley was a priority ?
I could have waited two or three years for that,
Instead we have a whole lot of People working there who know little about Prince History, and Some one thought it would be a great idea to allow Elvis,s Estate to own the Dot Com to what is essentially Princes IP....!!!
Its all kinds of stuffed up....

. I don't believe they would do anything that would not be beneficial to Prince's estate, but I understand your concerns. . Lot's of artists purchase other artists songs as a business investment. In March 2016, Sony paid 750M to buy MJs Beetles collection, so it's no longer a part of MJs estate. . It is sad what happened, because McCartney felt there was no point in fighting trying to get the catalogue back. . I sure hope that will not happen with Prince's estate.

The Estate could not wait. It cost a small fortune to keep PP up and running. This is why P would tour as often as he did, he needed the cash to keep PP operational. The monthly utilities alone are probably astronimical. PP is as big as the Whitehouse. They are both 55,000 square foot.

. Yeah, but the thing is, they could not procrastinate and leave Paisley Park in limbo. If they didn't get PP up and running again as a museum/tours, it could have been lost for good. They need to have money coming in to keep in running. The estate is in such shambles now, and Paisley Park tours, and concerts/events is the only thing that is successful right now. . I too, was upset when they opened PP so soon, but then I realized how important it was to do so. . I really believe they will do good.

. Yes! . A lot of people weren't too keen on having PP opened so soon, but it had to be done.

Well if it was what Prince wanted then it was what Prince wanted. I never so much as raked a leaf at the place so it isn't up to me. At this point it is what it is. Im overjoyed its still standing and seems to be doing well. Im very much looking forward to what the future holds. Looks like a few plans are on the horizon. I plan on sticking around and see how it unfolds from this day forward. But I do get a bit itchy with all the tragedy talk.

[Edited 7/22/17 18:51pm] The website is registered to EPE as they’re managing PP and were the ones to set up the website. As far as I know EPE doesn’t own any Prince IP or property. There’s not a lot of celebrity museums in the country so it only made sense for the estate to have Graceland manage it as they have experience doing it. IMO issues with staff knowledge isn’t because Graceland is running things. When Graceland first opened were all the tour guides there Elvis experts? I’m grateful they’re finding people willing to work there and the in depth knowledge can happen over time. Paisley Park is in your heart

I'm glad that Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises is managing Paisley Park because the people at Graceland know what they are doing! I visited Graceland myself about 6 years ago, and I'm not a fan of Elvis, but I enjoyed visiting Graceland. The people running Graceland have the specialized expertise needed to curate and run PP, including events like The Celebration that took place in April, which has some similarities to Elvis Week. . I hear what you are saying about the ownership of the domain name, but seriously, the Estate is such a mess that registering the domain name to the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson would have been virtually meaningless. The management of the estate transferred from Bremer Trust to Comerica in January and it was only a couple of months ago that Judge Eide finally named the 6 siblings as heirs. [Edited 7/22/17 18:51pm] . So> That's what a PM Co. does. Handle the business of generating profit for the property. You are running all kinds of things that are not related to each other together. This part of things isn't that serious. Its done.

This is a left turn I know but here is an article about Bob Marley who knew he was dying and did not leave a will. Also some interesting estate stuff. "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"

. I've been to Graceland also; many years ago. My Mom and Stepdad happened to be living in the area at the time and I'm glad I had the chance to visit Graceland. Otherwise, I probably would not have made the special trip to go there. I really enjoyed it.

. Sad story. I think his religion does not believe in having any Wills. It's not in their belief system. . I think James Brown's family are still fighting over his estate too; it's a mess.

Yes Clover, that is one way to look at it. But the other way is once you pass over, the money is of no use to you so let nature take it's course. Regardless of religion. "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"
