Photos: NPG store and Glam Slam summer 1994 In the summer of 1994 I was on a family vacation of the Northwest with my father, stepmother , and my high school friend. We saw the St. Louis arch, Mount Rushmore, The Badlands, Wall Drug, the corn palace. I was 15 years old at the time, and way too cool for everything except playing guitar, Prince , and other musical snobbery Lol... Lucky for me my stepmother insisted on seeing the Mall of America along the way. Since we were already in the Twin Cities I talked my father into stopping at The NPG Store and the Glam Slam. We also drove by First Avenue. My memory is a little fuzzy so I don't remember if we stopped at Paisley Park and couldn't get in, or if we didn't stop there at all. I just remember watching out the window for Paisley Park as we drove down the highway away from Princeland. I had really weird deja vu at the entrance of Paisley Park this past October, so I question weather we had stopped there and didn't get far. These Photos are from the NPG Store , plus the interior and exterior of the Glam Slam. I loved the NPG store and still have some of the goodies that I got there. If you look in the window you can see the Sacrifice of Victor book. I wish I would have bought it then, but alas the price tag did not fit the budget of a 15 year old. Sadly the current prices for this book do not fit my current budget either, at least not without giving up a planned vacation. We were chased out of the Glam Slam by a bouncer in broad daylight, until the bartender/manager told him to let us back in briefly to have a look and take pictures. I believe this was the same manager that passed away last year. Somewhere I have photos of Prince's framed Lake Minnetonka outfit from Purple Rain, and his bike from Graffiti bridge. I will post them when I find them. I just don't recall if these items were in the Glam Slam, Mall of America Hard-rock Cafe or at Paisley Park if we did stop there. Could any locals or fellow 1994 tourist help me place the location of those two items? I would really like to think that I would remember stopping at Paisley Park. Looking back it was the most interesting family vacation ever.

Thanks to everyone for all of your comments (and for being kind about the 90's fashions) . I love sharing these photos with people who appreciate them. I was very lucky that my father humored me and made stops at these locations especially since he was not a big fan of me being into Prince, or at that time. "As long as I can hear you smilin' baby
