Velvet Kitty Kat - anyone want to whet our appetites??

Someone must have heard it at one time...want to share?

What does it sound like? Is it a ballad, weird little ditty (my guess), or it it a rock or

funk song???

This leaked a while back nod. It might b different, more developed or something on P.R. Deluxe, but it's a fast cute lil song w/ a beat reminiscent of Bite the Beat. He wants true love n that's that, Velvet Kitty Cat smile.

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

This one isn't closely held - it's been out there for awhile. It's a synth-y, rockabilly ditty. Light and bouncy, with throwaway lyrics that are a play on his usual pussy themes of the time. Just Prince singing in a single track - no overdubbed harmonies on the version I've heard.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I love this song. Simple, not overdone, catchy, and double-entendre. Heavy on synth in places, but sparce in others. Can't wait for the official release!

It has definitely grown on me, but I still consider it to be a lacklustre track. I haven't studied the sequencing on PR deluxe, but I suspect that it was included because of its brevity. I hadn't noticed the underlying similarity to Bite The Beat, but yes, that's true (but not as good). Assuming it's similar to the leaked version, I doubt that it will be a highlight for many. “We Can Fuck” and “Love and Sex” on the other hand... these excite me. Are you whet yet? smile

I don't know for sure but as the track times are the same I think the version Purple Rain deluxe will be the same as the leak.

I think the song has a certain charm. Certainly not the sort of song where you think why on earth wasn't this released. I think it was probably meant to go to one of the protege albums.

Talking of cats I wish that they had included Feline. Now that is an awesome song, judging from the rehearsal and Instrumental versions.

very 80s sounding, fast-paced, heavy on the synthesizer. I sort of picture the sidekick from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air dancing to this song biggrin Other than P's voice, there's nothing very sexy about it, IMO

PURPLEIZED3121

as per a previous thread..it's all over the internet in demo form. Total throwaway, weak melody & weak lyrics...won't be surprised if he ended up shaping it into an epic!

It's something he probably wrote and recorded in ten minutes. imagine rockabilly Elvis with synths and meow sounds. He sings it in a low, but not super low register. I dig it, but the general public is definitely not gonna. Very sparse like the rest of the songs. At least we know The Dance Electric will have some guitar.
