8 miles = Purple Rain of rap?

I don't know if that's true or not but who's going to make the rap version of Under The Cherry Moon?

Since we brought up Sisqo on the Bar Kays thread, Let's cast him in the Prince role.

Let's cast the lovely Michelle Branch in the Kristen Scott Thomas role and Mr. Suge Knight in the Jerome Benton role.

What? You thought I was gonna say Puffy, Lil Kim and Biggie?

(Puffy would set it up where Biggie was shot at the end of UTGM 1 (Under The Ghetto Moon 1) and he talks to his character "up above" through the film.

"Yo, we holding it down on the Riviera for my man Big Tricky."

Great idea, but i can't see Suge throwing roses and sneeking a peek at Sisqo in the bath tub.

Im sure Sisqo is fruity enough to pull off the Tricky role

Well, that's where Suge could change things up a little and put himself in the role.

He could instead of throwing roses, shoot bullets into the tub and say:

"Get yo b**** a** out the tub n****. We got to go get Mary. And yo punk a** better be wearin'red!"

I don't think 8 Mile is as culturally significant.

I don't know a single person that has seen it.

Eminem might be rockin' the USA, but he's gonna be remembered only for his novelty songs and Stan.

I haven't seen it and probably won't but Eminem is actually a very good rapper. People get caught in all that Slim Shady stuff but the dude is good.

And I don't own one cd by him either.

Actually 8 mile is a damn good movie...it's realistic belive it or not...i thought it was going to be wack but it turned out to be a good flick...i don't see how anyone would think that this film isn't culturally significant it's a reflection of the disenfranchised, i think it would be tough to paint a more accurate portrait...i give it 2 middle fingers up!!!

Who's gonna play the role of issac? Clive davis?

Totally agree! Interesting to see how many people dis the film without seeing it. Much as Purple Rain converted a lot of people to Prince's music, I believe the nonsayers constantly dismissing Eminem would be surprised if they actually sat down and watched...and Eminem can sure out-act Prince!!
