Today we finally have some events being announced locally (was getting worried there for a minute) so trying to decide between the Purpleness: Prince Dance Party and the late screening of Purple Rain at the local quirky retro one screen theatre.

But also was wondering what everyone else is doing personally - Not JUST by attending events and being surrounded by fellow Prince fams, but by small things we each can do to spread love (purple or otherwise ) in his honour.

Donate gently used items, or an afternoon of your time, to a shelter or seniors home.

Plant a tree to keep Planet Earth green.

Create some art or support the arts,

Support some local musicians? Purchase an album of a completely random local artist and spread the word about it (word of mouth helps)!

Donate to a school of music?

It's the little things that bring smiles to strangers that I will be aiming for this year - The Only Love We Have Is theLove We Make

Purple Acts of Kindness: Give a Prince CD or movie to a stranger, and say "For You", From Prince" (or something less cheesy

Compliment people you pass on the street (possibly in the form of Prince lyrics).

Smiles are free. Hugs are too

Request Prince music to be played on all the stations.

Instead of wearing headphones at the bus stop, I'm going to stash the headphones and simply press play, letting people near me can hear the Prince music.

***Also, I think it would be neat if, if WE go to a Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Jamba Juice etc. To overpay to essentially cover the next customer in store/drive thru etc, and tell the cashier to say to the following cx "It's From Prince."

And not only post on Facebook and Twitter as Eric is stating (he is saying use the #PurpleWorldProject hashtag, I would even add #Prince4Ever to that as well But let's post them here on the org as well! Lets see the Princely love from fams around the world!

I am going to a soccer game downtown next week and will try to get someone to take my photo infront of the iconic stadium Hope to see some of your local landmarks soon too - remember it doesn't just have to be ONE photo/landmark!
