Hi omnithanos, love your concept and what you are doing and I enjoy keeping up with you.

I jiust have one question, why are 90% of your marks 7 and 8's/10. I mean I know they are fairly good overall and I average your marks and mine they are similar. But I mean you rank rubbish songs a 7 and maybe a 6 in 1 or 2 cases, where I give them a 2. Same with hot songs like Adore and Kiss, you give them 8s mostly, a 9 if you are lucky and even an exalted then, but I liberally scatter 9s and 10s to the songs that deserve them. In fact about 25% of all of Prince's songs I have given a 10 to them, because they are just perfect, that is why I love Prince's music. The man was a genius and wrote the greatest music that has ever been made.

But with every genius song, is 2 or 3 lesser songs ranging from good to meh to what the fuck. The next albums show this well, for every Holy River and The One you have a shitty song like Mr Happy or Face Down. Emancipation has some nuggets, but is very uneven, and at least 1/3 of it is just filler.

Crystal Ball is better, but the sequencing and format is atrocious.

There's definitely a lot of filler on Emancipation, but my goodness, that album has some gems on it. "Let's Have a Baby" is one of the most joyfully heartfelt songs Prince ever made. The vocals, the lyrics, the simplicity of the piano is just gorgeous. The best song I've ever heard about wanting to have a child with someone. It's a 10/10 for me.

And "The Love We Make" is my 3rd favourite Prince song. I love the studio version, but the live version he performed at North Sea Jazz Festival in 2011 is legendary stuff. 10/10
