Don't get your hopes up. The downside of being an obsessive i suppose. Be nice to see the two concerts though. They (Syracuse and First Ave) were filmed on video, not film so I'm not expecting massive improvement in picture quality. Maybe WB have the first generation tapes or they will spend a bit of money on restoration but i really doubt it. I'm expecting a fumble.

Oh I see. You misunderstood. I was not suggesting the Purple Rain release was a co managed project. In fact the entire context of my post should have made it clear that I was fully aware that the opposite was the case.
