I was not always happy with the artwork on his albums. Sometimes it looked really cheap. I think with better artwork he could have sold more albums to people who were just casual fans. My favorites are:

1. Around the World In a Day The painting actually illustrates the songs. Image and music go hand in hand. Perfect. 2. Purple Rain That shot of him on his motorbike perfectly captures his image at the time. Iconic. 3. Lovesexy Quote from the Dutch book Prince de biografie: "This time he is naked, all he wears is his faith. 4. 1999 Just like ATWIAD, these drawings tell us more about Prince than a photo would. 5. The Black Album No joke! The music black, both in the sense that it's funky and that it's dark. And it was supposed to be an anonymous release. What better way to do that? | |

In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days... | |

... a shame I find most of his post-Lovesexy artwork to be subpar, as I have no particular fixation on his 80s period... Well, I still enjoy the cover artwork to 3121 and Come... Rainbow Children has a nice painting on the cover but the design itself is quite generic... All others... | |
