Hi OP, + Hatrina..

Very nice thread -- and those pics are cool: about the pussy control... cool.. cool

In Europe we are surprised and shocked by the US election.

Trump what a complete FOOL, sad sad sad

He is talking bullsh*t about all other people even in his own republican party,

Such a fool, so shocking the next 4 years are gonna be nerve breaking, world peace, world economy is gonna be threatened by this no-brainer. nuts

Businessman, he knows zero about politics so it seems.

the europeans are very concerned right now, he is a dangerous man, unreliable.

Prince 4Ever. heart

I wish they would have kept Prince signs out of this. I don't even know exactly what these marches were about. If it's people upset that their political party lost in November then maybe they need to do a better job of getting out the vote everywhere and not just racking up huge margins in places they would have won anyway. confused

Prince stayed out of taking sides for the most part but if you think he wasn't political listen to all his music and read the lyrics.

Brand new boogie without the hero.

i think it's kind of about the fact that the man who has just assumed the mantle of 'leader of the free world' is on record as saying that it is okay to grab women by the pussy whenever he's inclined to do so...if i were a lady, i might too think it worth showing in force that i was digusted with the choice of the nation.

I've seen several PUSSY CONTROL posters created by marchers today.

I did too! nod

This song was controversial but it had a great message.

Those are some cool posters. I can't say I'm really a fan of the song itself here but it's nice to see thr message appear on current political protest posters, even if it's partly in jest.

Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...
Always cry for love, never cry for pain...

Prince's music was very political whether we like it or not. He created songs about racism, misogyny, "don't ask, don't tell" policy, Asperger's acceptance, natural hair appreciation, body positivity, religions... Bringing him up in marches or demos is inevitable.

Please. He wasn't brought up because of any of that. It was solely because he had a song with the word "pussy" in the title.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

This is a moral issue with Trump, so Pussy Control is a damn fine antithetical message to the amoral message that says, sexually assault a woman, no big deal. Pussy Control is perfect in this context, and I for one and damn glad to see that some women in the protests understood this. From the looks of the signs I would say that the women wielding them knew exactly what the song is about.

Exactly! highfive And there's the fact that Prince does have another song with "pussy" in the title but for the context, neither the song nor the title worked. Hence, no signs of it. So this clearly just wasn't about use of the word "pussy".

I think it's more clever than that. Prince has well earned appreciation from a wide spectrum of women and the song is a Princely attempt at female empowerment.
