What is the song "Daisy Chain" about?

What is a daisy chain?

Ambivalent about answering this and hoping you arn't puuling our leg, but her it goes: A chain of people, typically all women, who both give and receive cunnilingus throughout the entire chain.

WTF- The song is about sex not drugs. What do you think he means about White Girls giving it up and Black Girls giving it up? What do you think the girls are doing in the Daisy Chain? or go listen to Circle of Armour if you really want to know what he liked looking at.

Althoug later in the song is seems to be condeming them for their behavior.Which if you listen to his lyrics he obviously had some Madonna/Whore issues. He wanted to be around freaky chicks but at the same was a little disgusted with them. Typical man bullshit. Chicks are whore for doing this stuff and guys are just being guys.

This could be about him entering the music business and seeing young women "doing anything" to get a deal... nashing teeth / bloodshed thighs could be refering to a "casting couch" style audition. Whiplash; perhaps from being catapulted into the spotlight and dropped just as quickly. But he I don't know, I'm just riffing.

I guess this could be the next step... if the first verse implied a girl slept with someone, got a deal, ended up being a one hit wonder... now she's as funky as a junky? Corn rows, loosing weight... I still don't understand the "numbers with the video" reference.

This seems to fit too. Though, I hate the line about "Living in shame". It sounds like he's trying to be cruel. It's weird that he'd go there - on record. Which makes me think this is a dis-track and aimed directly at someone in particular.

So I'm not sure it's a song about having an orgy, so much as the "daisy chain" of Hollywood/The Music Business/Fame... sleeping with people who are then all linked to each other... While Prince remained a home-town boy for the most part.

Hey. Haven't seen you around here lately. It is interesting how Prince's lyrics can be interpreted in so many ways, Given that the daisy chain is so specifically a porn reference, it all fits with the sexual interpretation.

Yeah,

I got some very upsetting news on November 8th and I haven't felt much like socializing.

But it is nice to be back.

In hindsight it does seem obvious that the song is about porn, but I am still confused by the

lyrics highlighted above.

I don't know... I was thinking, if the girl was a one-hit-wonder. Maybe she's watching MTV to see the latest music videos, and lying to people about having the phone numbers of all these celebs. Maybe it's just a reference to sleeping with stars in order to get somewhere in the business.
