Londell did say on Twitter today that he's not going to allow Prince's music to be messed with (i.e. no remixes). Hopefully he's serious and has the power to stop anyone else from messing with it.

I see that. It's nice but i'm fairly sure if push comes to shove he won't have the power. All these things are happening already (Prince 4ever, meeting with Jay Z) and he only seems to find out after the fact.

I'm not gonna start tweeting at him giving out to him, he doesn't deserve that, but I'm not a huge fan of how he's going about the Prince business at the moment. He's putting himself out there as the legal expert on Prince's estate, the one to be trusted who always has the facts, and then instead of educating people on what's going on he's just giving out to them for not reading 400 music biz books and knowing the business inside out. Sure if we did that we wouldn't need to be following him in the first place.

Woo....that's a good one! Personally, I don't know how Prince did it. I don't know how he juggled so much and dealt with so many people in his career & personal life. He was really something -- he seemed to manage his stress very well -- you never saw him get mad.

-- I don't know how he did it. The only the thing you hear anyone say about him being angry was about sound issues at the shows.

.

I'm sure Londell is trying his best to protect Prince's music, making sure it does not get into the wrong hands. I knew this was gonna get messy. I pray that everything works out in the end, for Prince's estate and his previous recordings and the vault/unreleased music. I can't even begin to imagine what a nightmare this is for those involved.

.

Prince knew the music business very well, and knew Londell for many years, and I'm guessing Londell probably has a better understanding (or a pretty good one), than say, someone like Jay-Z, who was not a close friend of Prince, and he only seems to be interested in gaining control over Prince's music for the money.

.

Prince was right when he told Apollonia and other's; the vultures and jubilant judas will cry and make you feel sorry for them. Sad, just all very sad. Sorry for my ramblings.

Yes, he would get pissed when something would go wrong with sound or production. That drives a musician batty!! mad

I see that many are not members of Facebook Prince sites.

One of the best NPGMC Rebirthed has lawyers that are explaining every bit of legal information.

Like Lauraricharson said Prince was not a dummy with his money .There is a document that was made available to the courts showing some type of post mortum estate planning. That document has not been revealed as of yet but it has been presented to the court.

There is no mention of a Trust in any of the Estate filings.

That doesnt mean there isnt a Trust.

However, if there is a Trust it did not cover all of P's assets or the Estate would not have been opened.

this!! what i've been saying from the start. maybe p was "smart w/money" after he pissed so much of it away in the late 80's early 90's butthat's different form having your estate in order. he obviously didn't do the latter.

been this from the start, too. and if McM and /or the estate are not ready to do so they can keep quiet! this drizzling of info and quasi-info is unecessary.

Judging by some of the reaction here on The Org, as ever, Londell's tweet is neother cryptic or out of turn. There is so much lame knee-jerk pant-wetting ignorance on display here as always and he's right on both scores. If, as some suspect, Prince once checked the 'fam' sites out, he must have been well-disconnected by the time the shit festered enough to bring about PFU which itself was the finest example of rabid fandom grabbing hold of the wrong end of the stick and starting to beat around the bush with it.
Prince was kickin' Google ass, not closing down fandom, and he was doing it in advance of everybody else seeing that Google had been conning its users into doing the 'copyright violation', under the holy aegis of 'sharing', while becoming a company that dwarfs the value of all entertainment companies PUT TOGETHER and paying out zilcho to artists and tax authorities.
For Londell to comment that he sees why P disconnected from certain quarters must be something he says in considerable understatement.
Prince's vision gets overlauded when it should have been plain to see for anyone that 'sharing' had become the ultimate in social engineering for profit.

There's a mountain & it's mighty high
You cannot see the top unless you fly
And there's a molehill of proven ground
There ain't no where 2 go if you hang around

Everybody wants 2 sell what's already been sold
Everybody wants 2 tell what's already been told
What's the use of money if you ain't gonna break the mold?
Even at the center of fire there is cold
All that glitters ain't gold
All that glitters ain't gold, mmm

There's an ocean of despair
There are people livin' there
They're unhappy each and every day
But hell is not fashion so what you tryin' 2 say?

Everybody wants 2 sell what's already been sold
Everybody wants 2 tell what's already been told
What's the use of money if you ain't gonna break the mold?
Even at the center of fire there is cold
All that glitters ain't gold, no no
All that glitters ain't gold, no no

There's a lady, 99 years old
If she led a good life, heaven takes her soul
Now that's a theory and if you don't wanna know
Step aside and make a way 4 those who want 2 go

Everybody wants 2 sell what's already been sold (Sold)
Everybody wants 2 tell what's already been told (Told)
What's the use of bein' young if you ain't gonna get old? (Old)
Even at the center of fire there is cold (Cold)
All that glitters (glitters) ain't gold, no no no no no
All that glitters ain't gold
Alright

All that glitters, all that glitters, all that glitters.. ain't gold

Na na na na na na na (Gold [x4])
Na na na na na na na (Gold [x4])
Gold, gold, gold
All that glitters ain't gold, gold, gold
All that glitters ain't gold, gold, gold (Na na na na na na na)
All that glitters ain't gold, gold, gold (Na na na na na na na)
All that glitters ain't gold, oh
Oh yeah
1 2.. 1 2 3, let's go!

(Na na na na na na na) [repeat]

You are now an official member of the New Power Generation
Welcome 2 The Dawn

All that glitters ain't gold (Gold) [repeat & loop]
I guess we all seeing now( All The Glitter Ain't Gold) ....

I listened to a podcast from Roland Martin. This was a Prince tribute he did right afte Prince passed away. One of the people he interviewed was Londell who said the last time he talked to Prince was the Sunday before he passed away. Was Prince still using his services? Or did they just stay friends after Londell stopped representing him?

I think they stayed friends and maybe he went to him for advice from time to time. I did wonder if Londell knows more about P's health stituation then he has let on because he did show up on the immediatly.

I believe he did. I've also wondered if perhaps Prince has left a lot more instruction than we know of about what he wanted done...like perhaps he wanted Londell to handle the music piece of things and Bremer to be involved too. Not a will, but something that does document his wishes about things he held important. It's not a stretch to think this since we've heard he had told others what he wanted done at PP.
