Actually, it's not clear at all. Nearly every... maybe all? Of the so called condemnations of homosexuality have been run through a very heavy social/historical context filter. Not to mention having been translated from an archaic language that's up for interpretation.

Add to that, the hipocracy of any portion of society picking and choosing that one tenet of the bible to live by, while admitting that plenty of other ideas are outmoded. Slavery for example, cutting off limbs for theft, and ownership of women. But we (well, most of us) no longer find those rules necessary or acceptable for economic or social protection. Condemnation of any alternate lifestyle should die a long overdue death with those ideas. Doesn't mean we don't love God, it just means we've grown up.

I don't know the Bible. I was not religiously educated. What i know from religions is what I personally sought out to read myself, it was not imposed on me by family, tradition, culture, whatever. And I'll say just this: if only people realized what they percieve as God being something they can find inside themselves, and paid attention to "instructions" like don't judge, love one another, be kind, don't be greedy, be grateful, etc that are transversal to ALL religious, instead of fighting about who is closer to the truth... then the world would be a better place.
