The footage thats circulating on youtube looks professionally recorded. Does anyone know where it came from? Did Prince post the video on his website?

I think he did post it, either on the 3rdeye website or in the yourptube channel.
I was at the gig, and you can briefly see me in the video -according to my sister in law, anyway: I can't tell whether it's me or not 😂

I was also there near the front. Honestly one of the best nights of my life and Something In The Water was the highlight.
.
It was posted on the 3rdEyeGirl YouTube channel and I'm certain I saw Donna's husband Trevor Guy filming it.

Man... U might as well report me to PETA for beating a dead horse here... but his reinventions of his classics through 3EG were my favorites of his career. This is THE definite performance of this song, IMLTHO.

Agreed. I really like the 3rdEye version of Let's Go Crazy. None of his fast versions matches the greatness of the record to me. I also love I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man. Another song that's brilliant fast but equally brilliant slowed down. Brilliant on electric or acoustic or piano.

If it's the one titled "Prince Live - Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) - Manchester (2014)", then it's noted in the description that it was originally posted by 3RDEYEGIRL. It's excellent!

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

It is one of my all time favorite Prince songs and I love how he changed it so often over the years...from the cold, dark, electronic, haunting version on the album 1999 to the piano and bass-laden version he did a year after the album came out, then the sometimes 15 minutes long rehearsal versions he played at the warehouse (or the birthday gig at First Ave) and then when he rediscovered and changed this gem to a very breezy, airy, and relaxed sounding version during the 2002 ONA tour. And then he did some acoustic versions in 2004 and around 2011.

Absolutely love this song in all its incarnations.

If you like the 3rd Eye Girl version from Manchester ,try to find the Amsterdam version from the same tour. It starts with Prince on the piano, then he sings (without guitar), then he picks up his guitar and plays a very beautiful solo and the way he holds up the guitar at the end and then lays it on the floor and bows to the ecstatic crowd is one of my favorite Prince moments ever.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Agee also, love his performances with 3rdEyeGirl. Very, very talented group too. He always had the best musicians, IMO. biggrin
