Prince Eulogy

This eulogy was delivered by Mark Bonde, a longtime Prince fan and native of Minneapolis who has been attending events at Paisley Park since the early 90's. The occasion was a memorial held by a group of fans in Minneapolis on October 14 at Barre. I hope it offers a measure of comfort during this time of mourning.

Edited to include biographical information on the speaker.

If that's the case, why not just keep it moving until the day comes when you are ready? Many fams have decried the lack of a proper memorial for Prince in which we could all share. Well, this is probably about as close as we will get to that. I pray this doesn't turn into a negative, ugly thread.

Who is this speaking? I can't see where he introduced himself? Anyway, it's a lovely eulogy and thank you to whomever recorded and posted it.

Just curious, I saw this was promoted by Londell. Did he actually show up and speak with any of you. He heavily promoted the First Ave. appearance by Morris Day and how he couldn't wait to be with the Purple Army, but when he arrived he went immediately upstairs with Stevie Wonder. They stayed in a roped off area and the public wasn't allowed any where near them. None of them even acknowledged there was anyone else in the building. It was a bit annoying to be "invited" to an event and pay big bucks for a 35 minute set then being completely blown off as peasants. Just wondering....

I wasn't there, so I can't speak to your questions. This Eulogy just happened to pop up on my Facebook timeline.

This sounds like a valid concern that might be worthy of a separate thread, but presently I hope to focus on this beautiful eulogy.

Much needed. Thank you for sharing. I was already on the road headed home during this program. Wish I was able to attend. Thanks, again.

Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

yes I agree: This is MUCH needed. I hope all the fams who say they love Prince will take the time to view this. It did my soul good to hear it and to share it. So, there's no need to thank me. We should all thank the fams who were thoughtful enough to organize this loving event for P...and the man who prepared and delivered this poignant, public eulogy, Mark Bonde. I hope this video goes viral. Perhaps the media will even pick it up.

Thank you. I see his hame is actually in the OP - my bad. Anyway, it nice to hear - even if it took six months.

I actually edited the OP and added his bio info. Thanks for prompting me to do that.

Thank you. I really thought that most who love P would want to experience this. I guess, after six months, it's still too soon for many.
