Beautiful.

But they could´ve done this while he was alive.

Still nice of them though.

No they couldn't have. He would not have allowed it.

It's a shame this won't be a permanent exhibit... Or at least longer term...

wouldn't it be cool if the Minneapolis Museum of Arts had a permanent exhibit for Prince's stuff?

idea Now, that's a terrific idea! The same exhibit could be moved there! Maybe, if you have the time, you could suggest it to the right local people? I would love to see it when I eventually make a pilgrimage to Minnie...

This exhibit is quite nice. The place was full of people though the mall was packed so I'm not surprised it was busy. Looking at his diamond crusted scepter was quite emotional knowing it was something he has with him most places he went. The guitars they had on display looked like the real thing not replicas. I wish there was something permanent that they could swap out with new items now and then.

The Museum would be much more fitting than that monstrous mall nod

I went tonight. There is some really great stuff in there. From what I remember:

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame outfit and award

Superbowl jacket/shirt and light blue guitar

iHeart Radio Music Festival shirt, glasses, and guitar

Raspberry Beret video outfit

V magazine Balmain silver vest and sunglasses, and cane

Storyboards for Purple Rain, Prince's copy of Under the Cherry Moon script, and notebooks from Graffiti Bridge

V magazine shirt from cover photo, chain hat with the red cap, and 2 random pairs of boots

Large purple chair from Paisley Park

American Music Award from 1985 and one other award I don't remember

There are large Prince pictures all along the walls. They are selling Tshirts, tambourines, and Paisley Park tourbooks.

That a great list of items considering it is free of charge and at a mall. I´m actually surprised to see items such as the Cloud suit from the Raspberry Beret video on this list because I would have assumed that that suit was part of the Paisley Park tour. Same goes for the original guitars and suits and awards. Did the guys in charge of Paisley´s affairs organize this as some sort of advertisement for the Paisley Park tours, or are these two completely different things?

They orginally were going to open the MOA store, because they didn't think the city of Chanhassen would allow them to open after they tabled the measure in early October. Now I think it is just an advertisement for the Paisley Park tours, although no other dates are being offered past today.

:rollupsleeves: i wonder who to contact. wonder if the current management company at PP would want competition from the MIOA...

He had a stand in Mall Of America back in the 90s. A guy has a YOUTUBE video were he is talking about working retail for Prince at the mall.

It sounds like the mall store is only going to be open until mid November. With 1000's of outfits, they will probably be rotating things pretty often to keep people coming back.
