Have you ever been to a museum? Did you climb on top of the exhibits? What happened when you did? smile

These pictures weren't taken "at an exhibit". They haven't jumped any ropes, and were accompanied by a memeber of staff. There was clearly no disrespect or malice intended by the two fans in question.

Let's be real, if they're honestly expecting anything close to the visitor numbers they're talking about then these instruments are replicas.

Some staff are easily intimidated and some people take advantage of that fact.

Hey noodled.. an oscar is one thing.. his Piano and Guitar schould not be touched. Y by a million strangers, a photo means stand in front of the piano , don't lay on it or put your skink in foot up on it! It means remember he's gone okay.. show a little love for what he created on those instruments, don't make a mockery by taking this opportunity to act like an a*s! What don't you get about respect?? And by the way at Graceland you are not allowed to touch or play with anything, especially what's exhibited in the home . The hotels surrounding maybe but there preserving the exhibits and the way this is going the items seen here in the photos will not. Be preserved for years to come if this continues! That's what the meaning of having a museum is for preservation ... to ensure they last for the next 50 years.
Of course only a true fan would know this ,

No, but if a tour guide said I could then I would.

These pictures weren't taken "at an exhibit". They haven't jumped any ropes, and were accompanied by a memeber of staff.

If you go to PP and only get the basic tour. I doub't you'd even see that room.

First of all, look up the meaning of the

term exhibit:

an object that is shown to the public in a museum, etc.:
The museum has a fascinating collection of exhibits ranging from Iron Age pottery to Inuit clothing.
an exhibit doesn't have to be behind rope or glass and can be displayed openly.

Secondly, it shows a lack of respect for objects that are deemed very valuable if you would do it yourself. You don't know how to behave at these places and shouldn't go.
Baby, you're a star.

the estate is to blame for this. I can't believe they didn't rope those items off. I am more mad at the estate than a couple of immature fans. tyka might eventually regret her disregard for the personal artifacts of her brother. Sometimes people don't value physical reminders of someone until years later when they need them the most.

If you read people are allowed on the VIP tour to sit at the piano or stand next to it and have their picture taken. It's obvious some adjusting needs to be one since people, as they always do, are pushing the boundries.

There are photos from the first tour with people sitting at the piano. (Hint: Thats why you pay the extra $60)... If you're not supposed to touch it then they should put up ropes... the kind that signify "you're not actually supposed to touch this", as opposed to inviting people to sit at the keys.

I don't see any disrespect. Just fans being overly precious about objects they don't even own.

Shaming two fans for something an employee allowed to happen just isn't on.

Oh come on. there is reason museums are set up the way they are. We have a percussion museum in INdy where I live that contain Buddy Rich's drums. They rope that shit off. This is Prince's last Piano. How can they expect immature idiots to have reverence if they don't have it. At very least, she and the estate are being naive about the odds that at least some people will act like classless dolts.

I agree with you. I respect others negative opinions of the actions of these people, but I just wanted to say that I'm not shocked or appalled by this behavior. The only thing that does bother me is that if these instruments are getting scratched, dinged, trashed, etc. Some rules need to be in order in this regard. That dude laying on there makes me cringe because all I can think of is scratches, gouges, and wear and tear on that gorgeous piano that belonged to a lovely and talented man.

Most museum you can't touch the items. I am more concerned about the touching of the piano and things than the silly poses. I don't know what are the policies for touching items and taking pics at PP. I think their should a general admission fee and they should x out the vip thing. That's only a thought. They have alot of work to do to refine the PP experience.

The point of the VIP experience is that you get extras that general admission doesn't allow. The fact that you get this photo opportunity was probably one of the reasons some bought the VIP experience. Most people have been respectful around Prince's belongings and I don't think they should rope them off, although they probably soon. Why throw the baby out with the bathwater? There are other solutions which should be explored. I think Tyka is being kind to fans allowing this.
