I think it's pretty awesome.

Does anyone know if the ashes are in the symbol, or where they are at in the sculpture?

If anyone is to blame it is the family for putting Prince's urn on public display.

Given Prince's preference for privacy in life, I can't imagine him approving this, but then again I guess it is subjective and largely a matter of taste.

I read a comment stating that if this wasn't about money they'd show everyone a picture. Here they are showing everyone a picture and there's still issues.

I'll said it before and I'll keep saying it. I don't have a problem with it. And if this is what he specified then what is there left to say about it. It's about him and what he worked for and wanted. Take a deep breathe and chill.

I don't want to be rude or disrespectful....but that thing is tacky to all hell. If Prince was here, he would run the other way real fast. Even having his ashes on display is tacky.

I still don't feel totally comfortable with it, but seeing it makes me feel better for some reason. It's weird yet kind of perfect at the same time. I'm gonna choose to embrace it, & hope it's what he would have wanted... I guess confused It's not tacky like it sounded when described. shrug

I don't agree with Prince's "Urn" being out for public display. I think it should be kept in a private place. I'm not sure Prince would be happy with this. I wonder, was this one of his "wishes" that he asked of his sister, Tyka? Hmmmm. hmm

Yes, this could have been a wish he requested of Tyka. If she really knew his time was short she may have discussed his wishes before hand. As his only full blooded sibling she would know better than anyone what he may have wanted. I believe she loved her brother and wouldn't do anything to disrespect him.

Where are his actual ashes? Do you think they go in a little box placed inside it? Surely they can't be in the piano or love symbol?

I'll admit that I'm a little uncomfortable with it, but I think I'm a little uncomfortable with urn containing ashes being anywhere that you just walk by (even though I want to be cremated...don't ask). OTOH, where else would Prince be but Paisley Park? A gravesite? A church? That cemetery in Paris? Of course his remains should be at PP.

Then the question is where at PP and I don't think they could satisfy everyone no matter what they did. So, in the end, I trust that Tyka knew what her brother cared about and what he didn't care about (he might not have cared a whole lot what she did with his remains) and she's acting accordingly. We are uncomfortable with death as a society, so it is what it is.

I really hope Tyka doesn't visit this forum. sad Frankly I find some of the comments here more disrespectful than the arrangement of the urn. No one has to like the urn, so don't visit it. Unbelievable.

Agreed.

And with that I'm leaving it alone.

I feel it's perfectly fitting that his final resting place is at PP. It's clear thars where he would have wanted to stay forever and in his hometown too. I am just curious to whether his ashes constantly remain inside the urn.

I too think his cremation/urn is a personal thing that only his family could decide over. They knew him far better than any of us.

Doesn't bother me at all. It's different but it is nice. It does not look like an urn at all and if they had not told what it was, no one would have known. I don't know where the ashes are actually at in it but I guess they are somewhere discreetly there. Prince may have wanted his urn in the atrium so who are we to judge? In any case, I assure you, his family would know what he would have wanted wayyyy before we would. They knew him much better than we did, especially Tyka. I think people forget that. You knew the image, not the man.
