What make and model of bike did prince have? I've just got my first "grown up" bike and started wondering what type Prince had. I guess that he had more than one. Does anyone know?

I recognized the Trek badge in one picture. Don't know the model, but most likely a 15" frame. "I like to watch."

The purple rain motorbike was a 1981 Hondamatic CM400A, customized. (It also had hot pink velour inserts.) There were one or two stunt bikes used in Purple Rain, and they were not an automatic transmission. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That´s interesting. I´ve seen both bikes on display at Paisley Park and always thought that they were two different bikes (because I saw both bikes at Paisley). So the purple bike at Paisley must´ve been a stunt bike. By the way, not sure if you´ve already noticed it but one of the stunt bikes in Purple Rain (Lake Minnetonka scene) has totally different tires in that one particular scene (knobby, all terrain tires instead of slick ones). Ahh, I was thinking of his pushbike but both types are interesting. Yeah I noticed he had two types of motorcycle. Never knew he repainted the original PR bike for graffiti bridge though. Thanks!

OK, I have no idea if we're talking about motorcycles or bicycles here. But if it's motorcycles, I saw an 81 CM400 recently in a parking lot. DAMN, that's a tiny motorcycle. I'm 5'9", and I'd have to drape my legs over the handlebars. But it fits him perfectly. Gotta love vintage bikes, too. My favorite era. And the MUSIC continues...forever...

My 1st motorcycle was a black '72 Honda CB750K with a Vetter fairing and a king and queen seat with backrest, similar to Prince's motorcycle. Whenever I would ride over my friends house, they would start blasting When Dove's Cry from the radio in the garage.........

Interesting article, thanks. But I don´t understand this part: " the bike had its wheels changed from Comstar alloys to spokes...". As far as I can tell, the bike still has those alloy wheels on the album cover, not spokes. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! Aside from your bike weighing 5,000 pounds (having dropped one on my hand, I can personally attest to that. Don't ask.), that would be very much like Prince's bike but way bigger. Sounds like all it needed was gold trim and a couple symbols, ala Graffiti Bridge. I was so tempted to take a picture of the CM400 I saw, but the guy was walking out of the deli and I didn't want him to think I was a weirdo. I thought the question referred to a bicycle too.

I always forget how petite P was until I see mentions like this about how tiny his motorcycle was because it was in proportion to his size and he was filmed at angles that made him appear average sized to me.
Lil cutie P was actually teeny! Lol
