The new picture is dedicated to Prince. What does his music mean to you?
I love Prince, and so does Justin. [The dedication] was his idea. He's got many influences that he's happy to acknowledge, but none is as great as Prince. We wanted to celebrate him. Any time anyone who's been so generous with their art dies, it's always very sad. Hard to believe, too.

Him and Bowie — it's been a rough year.
In my house, we've still got the Bowie picture that we put up when we heard the news, Prince too. Our little shrines.

Justin is a joke, he ripped off Prince then disrepected him at that awards show - he's clueless. Dr Funk explained it all on his podcast once & even though I never liked JT I really don't like him now. Seeing his name in a sentence with Prince & Bowie is crazy to me.

That's hyperbole. As if Justin's the only one who has borrowed from Prince???? REALLY? Let's pick battles better. He's one of the highest paid singers today. He's no fool. Dude's 40 years old, and been in the business over half of his life. He's far from clueless.

Justin Timberlake saw Prince and David Bowie was inspirations. A good artist borrows, a great artist steals. Is JT a great artist? He's had staying power and success on radio and beyond. One can't deny that, despite how hard one might try.

And if JT clapped back at Prince - so be it.

At what point did I say JT was the only one who borrowed from Prince?! I don't think JT was clapping back either it was a straight up diss. It's not hyperbole it's my opinion, I've stated it & have nothing more to say. Hopefully the next battle you pick will make more sense!

Makes sense to me, and that's all that counts. I can only present a logical viewpoint. If others don't want to see that, I am not here to convince them. shrug

When did Justin diss Prince? Did anyone actually see his IG/FB post after Prince passed away? More heartfelt than a lot of others that's for sure.

"highest paid singers today. "

How so because he never blew up as a singer the way he was hyped up by the industry?

It did appear very heartfelt.

I know he did the thing at the one award show (I don't remember which). Prince won something, but wasn't in the building (I think he was delayed in traffic or some such thing)--I think he was expected to be present, which led to some adlibbing on Timberlake's part. So Timberlake (who was presenting) accepted for him, and lowered the microphone. Because, like, Prince was short and all. Apparently, some people think that was a terrible, terrible thing. It was a stupid, spur of the moment thing--not disrespectful in my opinion, but I've seen several very offended responses to it.

I can't think of anything else. I mean, Timberlake did breathe air on this planet, some of which might have been in Prince's lungs at some point, and clearly that would be just wrong (because, you know, some people really don't like Timberlake, so how dare he??!!).

I know some think lyrics in one of his songs was dissing Prince (over the whole "sexy never left" comment) but everything I've read is those lyrics were about Janet Jackson (for supposedly throwing Justin under the bus over the whole Super Bowl thing) and not about Prince.
