Far from it, but I've made baby steps. Today is the first time I have listened to any 80's material since that day. I have been stuck on HitNRun II.

There are times I think I accept it, then there are times I realize he isn't with us anymore.

I think you mean COLD and dead. Which he was, by all accounts. They determined by how the blood had pooled in his body (which caused bruising) that he'd been dead for several hours when they found him. Ain't nobody coming back from that.

Cremated him so fast. I mean, if he's gone, he's gone. Why leave the body lingering around in a morgue or something? Would people say the same thing if he were Jewish, where it's required that the body be taken care of very quickly post-mortem?

If they only revived him back to life... Well, he'd been dead for a good six hours. Even you recognize this. There is no coming back from that. He wasn't passed out, or in a coma. He was gone. Yeah it's sad. It breaks my heart, but let's all stay in a circle of truth here. As stated in the thread, the blood had already begun to pool in his body. That means no heart activity was going, and the blood stops being pumped. It starts to naturally move by force of gravity, into the lowermost part of his body (depending how the body is positioned). It causes was we see as a "bruise"; a bruise is broken blood vessels that cause blood to pool in an area of the body. That's most certainly a sign that he's gone.

Do you think it would have even be possible for them to revive him back? Have you ever heard of someone being dead for six hours, having no oxygen to the brain (brain damage starts to happen after , heart or brain activity, being revived back to life with CPR or whatever? No. Irreversible brain damage starts after about 5 minutes of no oxygen to the brain.

It's amazing how sensitive our bodies are to things, and how quickly they deteriorate when deprived. I wish they could have done something to bring him back. It'd have been my biggest wish on that day.

I accepted it more or less straight away. I was sad and found it hard to get my head round him being on TV24/7 for a few days but I accepted it.

I still get twinges of 'what if's all the time, but I try not to live my life wit hwhat ifs and shoulda woulda couldas in it.

You've got to look forward, and at the moment I'm looking straight forward, trying to ignore the conspiracy theories and ungracious scramble for his money and property and his legacy and this and that - it's a whole ugly mess.

I understand they have a tax bill to pay but they could have done it with a bit more class.

alas neither. Unlike the sad passing of David Bowie where he died with dgnity & a definite cause with his family around him we have a truly awful situation with Prince. Every time I get close to acceptance there's some new drama [wall around PPark, mess with the memorial gig, 6 new heirs appearing, constant speculation about his death, bitching from those around the Prince camp etc]

I gain so much joy from watching & listening to him on youtube etc BUT there's always something around the corner like a slap in the face!

No Genesia, I learned in medic school no one is dead until they are warm and dead. This usually refers to a person who has drowned or suffered from hypothermia.

Except that Prince didn't die of drowning or hypothermia. So he would have become colder. Room temperature is generally a good 20 degrees cooler than normal body temperature. And it takes awhile to assume room temperature - probably hours.
