I feel a song comin' on yaw'll. Won't you join me? https://www.youtube.com/w...rkEDe6Ljqs

"Nightshift"

Marvin, he was a friend of mine
And he could sing a song
His heart in every line
Marvin sang of the joy and pain
He opened up our minds
And I still can hear him say
Aw talk to me so you can see
What's going on
Say you will sing your songs
Forevermore (evermore)

Gonna be some sweet sounds
Coming down on the nightshift
I bet you're singing proud
Oh I bet you'll pull a crowd
Gonna be a long night
It's gonna be all right
On the nightshift
Oh you found another home
I know you're not alone
On the nightshift

Jackie (Jackie), hey what'you doing now
It seems like yesterday
When we were working out
Jackie (Jackie, oh) you set
The world on fire
You came and gifted us
Your love it lifted us
Higher and higher
Keep it up and
We'll be there
At your side
Oh say you will sing
Your songs forevermore (evermore)

Gonna be some sweet sounds
Coming down on the nightshift
I bet you're singing proud
Oh I bet you'll pull a crowd
Gonna be a long night
It's gonna be all right
On the nightshift
Oh you found another home
I know you're not alone
On the nightshift

Gonna miss your sweet voice
That soulful voice
On the nightshift
We all remember you
Ooh the songs are coming through
At the end of a long day
It's gonna be okay
On the nightshift
You found another home
I know you're not alone
On the nightshift

wink

rainbowchild, I'm sorry that you are facing a tough birthday sad Many of us are still struggling to come to terms with P's passing, and I can imagine how an occasion like that can call up the sadness. I hope you find a way to celebrate and have a happy day! There is really nothing that can be said to make it okay, but I hope you find some comfort in the company of the memories of all the happy birthdays past, and in knowing they can never be taken away from you hug

My birthdays never really involved Prince, but this year I briefly considered the fact that Prince's birthday would've happened the day after mine. It was a bit sobering.

Smooth how old are you now? eek

19. I'm still a wee little thing lol

My birthday is coming up and while I used 2 look 4ward 2 it (even though Prince doesn't celebrate his own birthday), it makes me sad knowing my childhood musical idol is gone and playing his songs on my birthday, which I normally do, is tinged with sadness. The last time I saw him in concert was around my birthday 4 years ago and it was the best birthday present I got and had been looking forward 2 doing it again if he was performing in my area like he did, coincidentally then, but now it will never happen again. sad

I had my 50th this year and threw a Purple Party which became a fitting tribute to
Our darling Prince. He would have been proud! On the downside my husbands birthday
Is April 21st think yourself lucky!!

Forever in my life 💜

Hear, hear! Never really understood the JWs stance of not celebrating birthdays. Even Prince used 2 sing-- "U better live now b4 the grim reaper come knocking on ur door! Let's go crazy!" cool
"Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

"We had fun, didn't we?"

Mine was this past Saturday, and I played his music and basically thought about him all day.

Well, my birthday is on the 13th of October, so this year maybe I just might celebrate it at the U.S. Bank stadium. We'll see what happens.
