So funny that Gene Siskal compared Purple Rain to Saturday Night Fever. They had another thing in common that he didn't mention (because it hadn't happened yet): both of them had sequels (Graffiti Bridge and Staying Alive) that sucked hard. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |
