They had a guest panel before the film with Jill Jones, Albert Magnoli, producer Robert Cavallo, costume designer Marie France and The one and ONLY Jerome Benton. And in her first public appearance since Prince passed, Apollonia!
It was fantasic. To hear each of them talk about how Purple Rain came to be, to listen to them bicker about the facts, to see who aren't exactly fans of one another.. all of it was facinating. Then watching the movie while singing along like the interactive verion of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
This was my first outting like this since Prince passed, and it could not have been more perfect. Prince has the best fans. We laughed together, cried together, and celebrated a man that means so much to all of our lives.
You guys are the best! (Sorry there are no pictures, The Academy had some serious security) Wow! Lucky you!! So glad you enjoyed it! And yes, Prince has the best fans of any group of humans I've ever known. That is a testament to him. | |

I concur. I like Jill and I want her to enjoy her rightful place in Prince's Pantheon. Right now, she just needs to do a bit of damage control after her Facebook post. Hopefully, her colleagues will cut her some slack. Also, if I were her, I would lose the all-black ensembles. Go for more color, Jill, like purple!!! Lastly, I am not feeling that hairdo. It is too severe and it ages her. Get a stylist, Jill!! You've still got it, but presentation is everything!!! OAN, SMILE!!!! Smooches!!! | |

Prior to last week, I didn't see any tensions between JJ and Apples. They mentioned about each other in a positive as they also attended Vanity's funeral. I didnt get why JJ couldnt have roll with A6 to the Tribute and she could have sang a couple of songs and they would have been her backup since I always thought JJ was more closer to them than the Revolution.
I think Appollonia is trying to stay neutral and keep the peace and seems she continues to support Jill. Jill need to get some help before Apples and the girls too will distance themselves from her. | |

Thanks ILuvMusic78 for posting this!!! I am so glad to hear you attended. I was bummed I had tickets but couldn't make it at the last minute and was soooo sad last night. But I am glad to see the panel discussion on the Academy FB page (awesome)! I didn't know Apollonia was going to attend - what a nice treat!
How did the movie look at this theater? Was the picture and sound quality awesome or what? Any more details??
